WoW Classic Raid Preparation: Checklist for Beginners and Veterans
Vanilla WoW Classic 1.12 · x5 realm · wowx5.ru# WoW Classic Raid Preparation Checklist
A successful raid starts before you zone in. On the WowX5 x5 server proper preparation is the difference between one wipe and a clean clear.
Raid preparation checklist
1. Gear and enchants
- [ ] All items enchanted (especially weapon, head, legs)
- [ ] Weapon sharpened: Sharpening Stone / Weighstone / Oil
- [ ] Armor repaired (0% durability → mechanic)
- [ ] BiS or pre-raid BiS for your role
2. Consumables
- [ ] Flask (by role): Flask of the Titans (tank/physical DPS), Flask of Supreme Power (caster DPS), Flask of Distilled Wisdom (healer)
- [ ] Food: Grilled Squid (Agility), Smoked Desert Dumplings (Strength), Runn Tum Tuber Surprise (Intellect)
- [ ] Elixirs: Elixir of the Mongoose + Winterfall Firewater (physical) or Elixir of Greater Firepower (mage)
- [ ] Potions: Greater Fire/Shadow/Nature Protection Potions (per boss)
- [ ] Bandages: Heavy Runecloth Bandage × 20
3. Resistances (FR/SR/NR)
| Raid | Who needs it | Resistance |
|---|---|---|
| Molten Core | All raiders | 100+ FR recommended |
| Ragnaros main tank | Main tank | 315 FR (maximum) |
| Naxxramas (Heigan) | Everyone | 200+ NR or SR |
| AQ40 (C'Thun) | Raid | 100+ NR |
4. Addons and macros
- [ ] Deadly Boss Mods (DBM) installed and up to date
- [ ] KLHThreatMeter enabled (non-tanks: watch your threat)
- [ ] CT_RaidAssist (healers: see raid HP)
- [ ] Discord in headphones (boss breakdowns are voice-coordinated)
5. Know the tactics
Before each boss:
- Read the boss page on WowX5
- Watch a tactics video
- Confirm your role (tank 1/tank 2, group healer, mechanic assignment)
X5 tip: on x5 rates leveling is faster but raids stay just as hard. A well-prepared raider saves time for all 40 people in the group.

Common new raider mistakes
- No flasks in the raid. A flask lasts 2 hours and doesn't drop on death — it's the best consumable in the game. Don't be stingy.
- No protection potion. Molten Core without a Fire Protection Potion on Sulfuron Harbinger/Ragnaros = extra deaths.
- Pulling threat. KTM shows your threat — if the bar goes red, slow down. The tank can't instantly recover aggro.
- No DBM. Without mechanic timers you react after everyone else, not with the team.
- Don't know the tactics. "We'll figure it out as we go" works in dungeons, not in raids with 39 allies.
What to do if you can't get into a raid
1. Check your item level — use the WowX5 site or ask in Discord for a gear review. 2. Close out pre-raid BiS: Devilsaur set, BiS rings from AB/WSG. 3. Build reputation: Thorium Brotherhood (blacksmithing), Argent Dawn (for Naxxramas). 4. Sign up for PuG raids via the LFG channel: MC opens its gates to newcomers every week.

FAQ
Which consumables are mandatory for a WoW Classic raid?
Minimum: Flask of the Titans or Flask of Distilled Wisdom (by role), Greater Fire/Shadow Protection Potion, stat food (+30 stat by role), Elixir of the Mongoose or Giants. Without consumables you deal or heal 10-20% less — that matters.
Is fire resistance needed for Molten Core?
Yes. Priests, druids and paladins want at least 100 FR for Onyxia and Molten Core. The main tank needs 315 FR for Ragnaros. Resistance is built through enchants, protection potions and resistance sets.
How do I sign up for a raid on WowX5?
Signups usually go through the guild Discord. If you're guildless, look for PuG raids in the LFG channel (/join LFG) or in the server Discord. For MC you want item level ~3500+, for BWL ~4000+.
