Step 1: Create an account
1. Go to wowx5.ru 2. Click the "Register" button in the top right corner 3. Fill in the form:
- Login — Latin letters and digits, 4-16 characters
- Email — a valid address for password recovery
- Password — at least 6 characters, 8+ recommended
- Repeat password
4. Click "Register"
Use a strong password — a mix of letters, digits and symbols. An account with level 60 characters is valuable, so take care of security in advance.
Step 2: Confirm your email
After registration a confirmation email will arrive at the address you provided. Click the link in the email to activate your account.
If the email does not arrive within 5 minutes, check your "Spam" folder. Emails from noreply@wowx5.ru sometimes land there automatically.
Step 3: Download the WoW 1.12.1 client
To play you need the World of Warcraft version 1.12.1 (Vanilla) client.

- If you already have a client, jump straight to step 4
Client size: ~2.5 GB. Download time depends on your internet connection.
Step 4: Realmlist setup
After downloading the client you need to set our server address.
1. Open the game folder 2. Find the Data folder → enUS (or ruRU for the Russian client) 3. Open the realmlist.wtf file in Notepad 4. Delete the existing text and enter: `` set realmlist wowx5.ru `` 5. Save the file
The realmlist.wtf file must be saved in plain text format (not .rtf, not .doc). Use standard Windows Notepad or Notepad++.
Step 5: Launch the game
1. Run WoW.exe from the client folder 2. In the "Account name" field enter your wowx5.ru login 3. In the "Password" field enter your password 4. Click "Login" 5. Select the WoW x5 realm from the list
Step 6: Create a character
After logging in you will be on the character selection screen.
1. Click "Create character" 2. Choose a faction (Alliance or Horde) 3. Choose a race and a class 4. Customize the appearance 5. Enter a character name (Latin letters only) 6. Click "Accept"
If you are new to WoW Vanilla, we recommend starting with a Paladin (Alliance) or a Shaman (Horde) — these classes are self-sufficient and forgiving. For experienced players: the Warrior is hard early on but irreplaceable in raids.
Possible login problems
