Battleground Updates and PvP Changes on WowX5 2026
PvP activity on the WowX5 x5 server grows every month. Here's the current information on battleground changes, the honor system, and available PvP rewards.

Available battlegrounds
Warsong Gulch (WSG)
10v10, capture the flag. The classic quick-match PvP format. Warsong Gulch reputation unlocks good PvP gear for mid-level characters. Queue is instant or near-instant at prime time.
Arathi Basin (AB)
15v15, capture bases. A tactical map with five capture points. Arathi Basin reputation unlocks BiS rings and items for various classes.
Alterac Valley (AV)
40v40, epic standoff. Long battles with resources, NPC bosses, and objective tasks. Frostwolf/Stormpike reputation unlocks BiS trinkets and weapons.

Battleground strategies and tips
Warsong Gulch: 5 tips
- A warrior or paladin carries the flag — harder to kill with high HP.
- Hunter with Aspect of the Cheetah — best flag runner without a guard.
- Never split from your base solo — guaranteed death.
- Controlling the map center is cheaper than chasing the flag.
- Use Druid flight form for instant flag pickup and return.
Arathi Basin: capture 3 bases
The standard "3 bases" strategy splits the team into three groups of 5. Never pull for a fourth base while three aren't secured — it's a losing trade.
Alterac Valley: speed vs. full resource farm
PuG groups usually aim for a fast kill (kill the general without farming resources). Guild groups farm resources for reputation. On WowX5 with x5 reputation it makes sense to farm — BiS AV items unlock fast.

WowX5 x5 runs all three classic WoW Vanilla battlegrounds: Warsong Gulch (WSG, 10v10), Arathi Basin (AB, 15v15), and Alterac Valley (AV, 40v40). The queue launches from anywhere in the world.
?How does the PvP rank system work in WoW Classic?
The system is based on Honor Points and weekly PvP contribution. At the end of each week the server ranks players and assigns ranks (from Private to General/Grand Marshal). High ranks unlock BiS PvP gear.
?Are there any changes to standard PvP on WowX5?
The server runs patch 1.12.1 (Before The Storm), including cross-realm battleground queues. The x5 rates accelerate character and battleground reputation leveling, but the honor system is standard — the weekly contribution is counted as in the original.
