Farming Valuable BoE Items in WoW Classic x5
Vanilla WoW Classic 1.12 · x5 realm · wowx5.ruBoE items (Bind on Equip) are a lottery, but potentially the biggest single gold source. Unlike Bind-on-Pickup gear, BoEs can be sold on the auction house. A rare blue or a world epic goes for hundreds of gold. On WoW x5 the drop chance is above baseline, so 'hits' happen more often.
Where to hunt BoEs
| Zone / content | What to look for |
|---|---|
| Silithus, elite packs | blue BoEs, elemental materials |
| Eastern Plaguelands | BoE epics off elites, Thorium |
| Winterspring | BoEs, ore and herbs |
| Dungeons (DM/Strat) | blue BoEs, recipes |
How to squeeze the most out
1. Farm for several goals at once. BoEs are a bonus to materials and reputation, not the only aim. 2. Know the prices. Check the median with Auctioneer before selling — rare BoEs are easy to underprice (see flipping). 3. Sell at peak. Friday evening/Saturday is maximum buyer activity.
World epic BoEs ('world drops') fall extremely rarely but are worth a fortune. Don't chase them on purpose — just farm dense elite zones, and one day luck pays off weeks of farming.
Where the loot goes
- Blue/epic BoEs → auction house at the median.
- Extra greens → disenchant.
- Materials → crafters in stacks.
BoE farming fits neatly into a daily gold routine. The full list of methods is in the gold-making overview.
FAQ
What is BoE and why is it valuable?
BoE (Bind on Equip) items only bind when equipped, so they can be sold on the auction house. Rare blue and epic BoEs (such as world drops) sell for hundreds of gold and give big one-off payouts.
Where is the chance to get an expensive BoE highest?
On high-level elite mobs and in end-game zones: Silithus, Eastern Plaguelands, Winterspring, plus dungeon bosses. World epic BoEs drop rarely but pay off weeks of farming.
Should I farm BoEs specifically for income?
As a main method — no, drops are random. As a nice bonus to mob/dungeon farming — yes: you farm cloth, reputation and materials anyway, and a BoE sometimes 'hits' for a big sum.
