Winterspring: Levels 53–60 Zone Guide

◆Overview
Winterspring is a permanently snow-covered valley in northeastern Kalimdor, east of Felwood and Mount Hyjal and north of Azshara. It is one of the final Vanilla zones for characters in the 53–60 range. The neutral goblin town of Everlook (Steamwheedle Cartel) sits in the centre of the valley, old night elf holdings remain nearby, and the caverns of Mazthoril are home to the blue dragonflight. The zone is best known for two reputations: the Wintersaber Trainers, which reward Alliance players with an exclusive frostsaber mount, and Timbermaw Hold, the furbolgs whose tunnel links Winterspring with Felwood and Moonglade.

There is only one way in on foot — the Timbermaw Hold tunnel from the northeastern corner of Felwood; inside the mountain it forks toward Moonglade and Winterspring. To keep the tunnel guards from attacking you, you need at least Unfriendly reputation with Timbermaw Hold. Flights from Everlook: Alliance to Talonbranch Glade (Felwood) and Talrendis Point (Azshara), Horde to Orgrimmar, Bloodvenom Post (Felwood) and Valormok (Azshara); there is also a route to Moonglade.

Quests and Quest Hubs
Everlook is the main neutral town in the centre of the zone: inn, bank, auction house, stable master and flight masters for both factions. This is where you pick up the Are We There, Yeti? chain (yetis of Ice Thistle Hills), Storm Shadowhoof's quests on Shardtooth bears and Chillwind chimaerae and Witch Doctor Mau'ari's chain.
Frostfire Hot Springs is home to the dwarf Donova Snowden. Her neutral chain about the corruption of the Winterfall furbolgs (Threat of the Winterfall, Winterfall Firewater, Winterfall Runners) ends with a group quest against High Chief Winterfall in Winterfall Village, east of Everlook.
Starfall Village is a night elf settlement and Alliance hub: the Ruins of Kel'Theril chain by Lake Kel'Theril (Highborne ghosts) and the Enraged Wildkin quests. Owl Wing Thicket hosts the Ranshalla chain (Find Ranshalla, Guardians of the Altar).
Frostsaber Rock is a crag in the north of the zone where Rivern Frostwind of the Wintersaber Trainers stands. Alliance only.
Mazthoril is an icy cavern of the blue dragonflight near Everlook and Lake Kel'Theril. At its peak lives Haleh, part of the Matron Protectorate chain that starts in Upper Blackrock Spire.
Notable chains:
- Wintersaber Trainers (Alliance) — the repeatable quests Frostsaber Provisions (Shardtooth and Chillwind meat), Winterfall Intrusion (from mid-Neutral) and the group quest Rampaging Giants (from Honored). In 1.12 the road to Exalted is very long.
- Timbermaw Hold — killing Winterfall furbolgs, Salfa's quests at the tunnel exit (Winterfall Activity and the repeatable Beads for Salfa) and the Donova Snowden chain.
Tips for WoW x5
On x5, Timbermaw Hold reputation rises faster than on classic rates. Combine Winterfall furbolg kills with beads and Thorium. See the Gold Farming guide for detailed routes.
The Frostmaul giants of Frostwhisper Gorge, the demons of Darkwhisper Gorge and the dragons of Mazthoril are elite. Bring a group for the quests.
From Winterspring you can take the Timbermaw tunnel back to Felwood or Moonglade, or drop down the southeastern cliffs into Azshara with a slow-fall effect (Slow Fall, Levitate or a Parachute Cloak). The Reins of the Winterspring Frostsaber are sold by the Wintersaber Trainers at Frostsaber Rock. The mount is Alliance-only, open to any race and class, and requires Exalted with the faction. Reputation comes from the repeatable quests of Rivern Frostwind.
?What reputation can I farm in Winterspring?
The main reputations are Timbermaw Hold (both factions, Winterfall furbolgs and Winterfall Spirit Beads), Wintersaber Trainers (Alliance only, Frostsaber mount) and Everlook (Steamwheedle Cartel) from Everlook quests.

The first quests start around level 53–55 and most of the zone is tuned for 56–60. The elite areas Mazthoril, Frostwhisper Gorge and Darkwhisper Gorge are for level 60 groups.
