The Twisting Nether is a chaotic dimension between the physical worlds, an ocean of raw magical and demonic energy. It is the home of the Burning Legion's demons and one of the most dangerous places in all creation.

◆Between the worlds
The Nether has no land nor sky — only churning currents of magic, forever changing shape. Through it run the paths between stars and worlds, and along these currents the Burning Legion moves from one doomed planet to the next.
◆The Legion's source
Sargeras gathered a countless host of demons within the Nether. His commanders Kil'jaeden and Archimonde lead this Burning Crusade across the dimensions, seeking to burn worlds one after another.
◆The immortality of demons
The peculiar nature of the Nether makes demons nearly indestructible: when a demon dies in the physical world, its essence returns to the Twisting Nether and slowly reforms there. This is why defeating the Legion demands not just strength, but the denial of the demons' abode.
