Theramore — a guide to the Alliance stronghold on Kalimdor
Theramore is a fortified island town of humans in eastern Dustwallow Marsh, the main Alliance stronghold on Kalimdor. It is ruled by Lady Jaina Proudmoore. For Alliance players it is a key outpost far from home: a bank, trainers, a flight master and a boat to Menethil on another continent.
The boat to Menethil in Wetlands leaves from Theramore — the main Alliance sea bridge between Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms. Set your hearth here if you level on Kalimdor.

◆What Theramore offers
The island fortress covers every need of an Alliance player on Kalimdor:
| Facility | Why |
|---|---|
| Bank | store items and gold |
| Flight master | flights across Kalimdor |
| Class and profession trainers | learn skills |
| Docks | boat to Menethil |
| Inn and mail | rest, letters, hearth point |
The town sits on an island linked by a causeway to the Dustwallow shore.
◆The boat to Menethil and travel
Theramore's main value is The Lady Mehley, the boat to Menethil in Wetlands. It is the primary way for the Alliance to cross the ocean between Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms.
From there the road runs to Loch Modan and on to Ironforge and Stormwind. How to fit sea routes into your path is in the travel guide.
Jaina Proudmoore and lore
Theramore is ruled by Lady Jaina Proudmoore — a mighty sorceress and leader of the surviving humans of Lordaeron who sailed to Kalimdor before the battle at Mount Hyjal.
The town is a symbol of the fragile peace between Alliance and Horde: it neighbors Orgrimmar across the bay, and the tension between the factions is especially felt here.
◆Surroundings and dangers
Dustwallow Marsh is a level 35-45 swamp zone with murlocs, saurians and the dragon Onyxia hiding in Onyxia's Lair nearby. Hostile marsh creatures roam around Theramore.
A mid-level character should head to Theramore — as an outpost it is handy for Dustwallow quests and raid prep.
