Tanaris: Gadgetzan, Quests, and Farming
Tanaris is a vast desert zone in southern Kalimdor, known for its neutral goblin city, brutal pirates, and the dungeon Zul'Farrak. Recommended level range: 44–55. For players on WoW x5, Tanaris is a goldmine of quests and farming — especially if you're preparing your wallet before raiding.

◆Gadgetzan — The Neutral Hub
Gadgetzan is a walled city run by the Steamwheedle Cartel. Both factions use it freely.

Set your hearthstone to Gadgetzan early. Almost every Tanaris quest sends you back here, and its central location cuts travel time dramatically.

Quests — Both Factions
Most Tanaris quests are available to both factions from Gadgetzan and Steamwheedle Port:
- Wastewander Water Pouch — Kill bandits north of Gadgetzan, great XP
- The Prophecy of Mosh'aru — Epic chain leading into Zul'Farrak
- Noggenfogger Elixir — Chain ending in the iconic goblin potion recipe
- Screecher Spirits — Travel quest to Feralas and Un'Goro, good XP
- Gahz'ridian — Silithid collection from the Noxious Lair
The Silithid areas in southwestern Tanaris contain densely packed mobs with venom debuffs. Don't pull multiple at once without a tank or high armor.
◆Farming — Lost Rigger Cove
The pirate camp on the eastern coast is the best farming spot in Tanaris:

Zul'Farrak (ZF) is a 5-player dungeon in northwest Tanaris. Level range 44–54. Features an outdoor layout (open sky) and the famous Sergeant Bly stairs event — one of the most memorable dungeon encounters in Classic.
