Stormwind — a guide to the Alliance capital
Stormwind is the main Alliance capital in Elwynn Forest. It is the first big city a human player reaches and a key hub for every Alliance race: bank, auction house, trainers and a flight master are all here. This guide helps you find everything fast among its districts.
First thing, bind your hearthstone to the inn in the Trade District — the bank, auction house and flight master are all a short walk away. One hop home saves dozens of minutes of running between districts.

◆The districts of Stormwind
The city is split into six districts linked by canals:

Use the central canals and bridges as your landmark: every district branches out from them.
Bank, auction house and mail
The city's economic heart is the Trade District. The bank, auction house and mailboxes stand within a few steps of each other.

Class and profession trainers
Trainers are easy to find by district:
- Warriors and rogues — Old Town.
- Mages and warlocks — the Mage Quarter (warlocks in the Slaughtered Lamb).
- Priests and paladins — Cathedral Square.
- Professions — blacksmithing and engineering in the Dwarven District, tailoring and alchemy near the Mage Quarter.
Humans have no hunters or druids — those classes are trained by night elves in Darnassus. Ready leveling routes for crafts are in the profession guides.
◆Flight master and roads
The gryphon flight master stands at the entrance to the Trade District — bind this route first. From here flights open across the Alliance Eastern Kingdoms.

Human players start near Stormwind in Elwynn Forest and reach the capital by level 6-10. Dwarves and gnomes arrive by tram from Ironforge, night elves by boat and flights through Auberdine.
