Darnassus is the night elf capital atop the world tree Teldrassil. It is the only Alliance city that trains druids and hunters, so every elf and many crafters come here sooner or later. The city is built from living terraces linked by bridges and paths among the trees.
Darnassus is long and tangled because of its terraces and bridges — follow the main road that rings the city. The portal by the Temple of the Moon leads to Rut'theran, where a boat sails to Darkshore and gryphons fan out across Kalimdor.
The terraces of Darnassus
The city is split into several terraces linked by bridges:

Your main landmark is the Temple of the Moon in the west and the large road that rings the terraces together.

The bank and auction house sit next to the Craftsmen's Terrace — the trade hub of the city. The Darnassus auction house is smaller than in Stormwind and Ironforge because it is linked to them by a long sea route, but for elven goods and herbs it can be more profitable.

Class and profession trainers
Darnassus is home to the elven classes:
- Druids — the Cenarion Enclave; nowhere else on the Alliance trains them.
- Hunters — the Tradesmen's Terrace.
- Priests — by the Temple of the Moon.
- Warriors and rogues — the Warrior's Terrace.
Alchemy, herbalism and skinning are trained here too — crafts close to the elves' nature. Leveling routes are in the profession guides.
Flight master, portal and boats
The flight master stands at the city exit and links Darnassus to Kalimdor points. But the main transport is the portal by the Temple of the Moon: it instantly moves you down to Rut'theran Village at the roots of Teldrassil.

Night elves start nearby in Teldrassil and reach Darnassus by level 6-10. Other Alliance races arrive by boat from Darkshore, reached through the port at Auberdine.
