The Eastern Kingdoms form the eastern continent of Azeroth, homeland of humans, dwarves, gnomes, high elves and the Forsaken. The First and Second Wars were fought here, the kingdom of Lordaeron fell here, and most of the WoW Classic 1.12.1 endgame sits here too: Blackrock Mountain, Zul'Gurub, Naxxramas and the Plaguelands.

Stormwind and Ironforge are linked by the Deeprun Tram, which runs beneath the Great Sea and costs nothing. The continent's neutral goblin hubs are Booty Bay in Stranglethorn Vale (with an auction house open to both factions) and Thorium Point in Searing Gorge. The continent's world boss is the demon Lord Kazzak, who patrols the Blasted Lands beside the Dark Portal.

Leveling routes

Alliance follow an almost unbroken line: Elwynn Forest or Dun Morogh → Westfall → Redridge Mountains → Duskwood → Wetlands → Arathi Highlands → Stranglethorn Vale → The Hinterlands → the Plaguelands.

Horde start in Tirisfal Glades, work through Silverpine Forest and Hillsbrad Foothills, then cross Arathi and take the zeppelin to Stranglethorn Vale.

Continental lore

Seven human kingdoms once stood here; their history is collected in Kingdoms of Azeroth. After the Second War and the Third War Lordaeron became the Plaguelands, and the Forsaken rose in Tirisfal Glades. Far to the south, in the Blasted Lands, the Dark Portal still stands open.
