Cities of Azeroth: Alliance and Horde capitals
WoW Classic 1.12.1 gives players six playable capitals — three per faction — plus a handful of neutral goblin towns where both sides trade. Your choice of capital answers three questions: where your class and profession trainers stand, which auction house is most convenient, and which city is closest to the zones you need. Here is the full rundown of Azeroth's cities on the WowX5 realm (x5 rates).

The lost gnome capital is Gnomeregan: after it was flooded with radiation the gnomes moved to Tinkertown, a quarter of Ironforge. The city itself became a level 29–38 dungeon.

The Darkspear trolls have no capital of their own: their quarter is the Valley of Spirits in Orgrimmar.

The neutral auction house in Vanilla runs on a separate database and charges a higher cut — 15% instead of 5%. In exchange you can buy goods your own faction never lists. More in the auction house guide.
What to look for in a capital
- Class trainers. Not every class trains in every city: for the Alliance, druids only in Darnassus and Moonglade, hunters only in Ironforge and Darnassus. For the Horde, druids only in Thunder Bluff and Moonglade, shamans in Orgrimmar and Thunder Bluff. The Horde has no paladins, the Alliance has no shamans.
- Profession trainers. A complete set of primary professions is available in Stormwind, Ironforge, Orgrimmar and the Undercity; Darnassus and Thunder Bluff are missing a few.
- Bank and mail. One bank per character, reachable from any city — keep materials on a single mule.
- Auction house. Faction auction houses are linked: anything posted in Stormwind shows up in Ironforge and Darnassus.

?How many capitals does WoW Classic have?
Six playable ones: Stormwind, Ironforge and Darnassus for the Alliance, Orgrimmar, Thunder Bluff and the Undercity for the Horde.
?Where is the neutral auction house?
In Booty Bay in Stranglethorn Vale, in Gadgetzan in Tanaris and in Everlook in Winterspring. The cut there is 15 percent instead of 5.
?Where can I train as a druid?
Alliance druids train only in Darnassus and Moonglade; Horde druids only in Thunder Bluff and Moonglade.
?Why do gnomes have no capital of their own?
