Camp Taurajo: How to Reach the Tauren Outpost in WoW Classic
How to get to Camp Taurajo is a common question from tauren leaving Mulgore for the first time and from Horde players heading south through the Barrens. Camp Taurajo is the tauren stronghold of the southern Barrens and the second most important flight hub in the zone after the Crossroads. Leveling on WoW x5 is fast, so here is the shortest way to get there.

◆Where Camp Taurajo is
The camp lies in the southern Barrens, on the Gold Road, the main highway that runs through the whole zone from north to south. The mountain pass from Mulgore opens right next to it, so the camp is the tauren gateway to the wider world. The area around it covers roughly levels 15 to 25. Important: in 1.12.1 the camp is intact and busy — the burned Ruins of Taurajo exist only in Cataclysm, and you will not see them on WoW x5. Zone overview in the Barrens wiki page, every way into the zone in how to get to the Barrens.

How to get there as Horde
Tauren from Thunder Bluff:
- Take the lift down from Thunder Bluff; if you have not been to the capital yet, see how to get to Thunder Bluff.
- Follow Mulgore's main road east past Bloodhoof Village.
- The road enters a mountain pass on Mulgore's eastern border.
- Camp Taurajo stands right after the pass — grab the flight path.
Orcs and trolls from Orgrimmar:
- Head south and cross the bridge over the Southfury River at Far Watch Post.
- Walk to the Crossroads (route in how to get to the Crossroads) and pick up the flight path there.
- Turn south on the Gold Road and follow it to Camp Taurajo.
Forsaken take the zeppelin from Undercity to Orgrimmar and continue like the orcs. After your first visit you can fly to the camp.
How to get there as Alliance
For the Alliance Camp Taurajo is an enemy base with strong guards. The nearest neutral port is Ratchet, reached by ship from Booty Bay; the route is in how to get to Ratchet. Another option is the ship to Theramore and then west through Dustwallow Marsh into the Barrens. Both routes cross Horde territory. Raids on Taurajo are a frequent world PvP topic.
◆What the camp offers
- Flight path — wind rider master Omusa Thunderhorn. Flights to Thunder Bluff, the Crossroads and Freewind Post in Thousand Needles.
- Inn — Innkeeper Byula. A handy place to set your hearthstone before the southern dungeons.
- Profession trainers — skinning, tailoring and leatherworking, plus leather armor and supplies vendors.
- Prisoner — the quilboar Mangletooth sits in a cage. For Blood Shards he grants temporary blessings of Agamaggan.
- Leader — Jorn Skyseer continues the Crossroads hunting quests and sends tauren on to Thunder Bluff.
