How to Reach the Crossroads in WoW Classic
How to get to the Crossroads is the first travel question for nearly every Horde player who leaves Durotar or Mulgore. The Crossroads is the main Horde town in the Barrens and the most important flight hub on the continent. Leveling on the WoW x5 server is fast, so you will reach this town at around level 10 to 12 — here is how to get there without detours.

◆Where Is the Crossroads
The Crossroads stands in the northern part of the Barrens, a zone for roughly levels 10 to 25. The name says it all: here the main north–south road, the Gold Road, crosses the road that runs from the port of Ratchet in the east to Stonetalon Mountains in the west. The town is surrounded by a palisade, protected by elite Horde guards and always busy with players. A full overview of the zone and its subzones is in the Barrens article, and routes into the zone are covered in how to get to the Barrens.

How to Get There as Horde
Orcs and trolls — from Orgrimmar:
- Leave Orgrimmar through the main gate and follow the road south. If you have never been to the capital, see how to get to Orgrimmar.
- At the fork, turn west toward the bridge over the Southfury River.
- Right past the bridge stands Far Watch Post, a Horde lookout. From here on you are in the Barrens.
- Follow the road west to the Crossroads and learn the flight path.
Tauren — from Thunder Bluff:
- Take the lift down from Thunder Bluff and follow the main road east through Mulgore, past Bloodhoof Village. Details are in how to get to Thunder Bluff.
- The road leaves Mulgore near Camp Taurajo — pick up its flight path.
- Turn north onto the Gold Road and walk to the Crossroads.
Forsaken take the zeppelin from outside Undercity to Orgrimmar and then follow the orc route. After your first visit, the Crossroads is a wind rider flight away from Orgrimmar and Thunder Bluff.

How to Get There as Alliance
For the Alliance the Crossroads is an enemy town, and going in alone is pointless: the guards are elite. The nearest Alliance flight point in the Barrens is neutral Ratchet, which you can reach by ship from Booty Bay; the route is described in how to get to Ratchet. From Ratchet the road leads straight west to the Crossroads. Night elves sometimes come down from Ashenvale in the north along the Gold Road, past the Horde's Mor'shan Rampart. Both routes pass Horde patrols — on a PvP realm, raids on the Crossroads are a world PvP classic.
◆What Is in the Crossroads
- Flight path — Devrak, the wind rider master. Wind riders fly to Orgrimmar, Thunder Bluff, Camp Taurajo, Ratchet and the Horde outposts of neighbouring zones.
- Inn — Innkeeper Boorand Plainswind. Set your Hearthstone here: you will spend several levels in the Barrens.
- Quests — Thork gives Disrupt the Attacks, Tonga Runetotem gives The Forgotten Pools, and Mankrik offers the legendary Lost in Battle — the very «where is Mankrik's wife» of General chat fame.
- Services — vendors, a forge with an anvil, a stable master, a mailbox; the graveyard is outside the south gate.

Learn the Crossroads flight path as early as possible: it is the heart of the whole Horde flight network in Kalimdor. The full map is in the flight paths guide.
◆What to Do Nearby
Dozens of quests surround the Crossroads; the best order is collected in the Barrens leveling guide. To the southwest, by Lushwater Oasis, lies the entrance to the first big Horde dungeon — the route is in how to get to Wailing Caverns, and tactics are on the Wailing Caverns page. North the road leads into Ashenvale, east to the sea and the ship to Booty Bay. General travel tips for the whole world are gathered in the travel guide.
