How to get to Undercity is a question every Horde player except the Forsaken asks sooner or later: this is where you find the Forsaken auction house and bank, class trainers, the Apothecarium and zeppelins in both directions. Undercity is hidden deep underground, and not everyone finds the entrance on the first try. Here are the routes from anywhere in the world on the WoW x5 server (Vanilla 1.12.1).

Where Undercity Is

Undercity lies beneath the Ruins of Lordaeron in the southeastern part of Tirisfal Glades, in the north of the Eastern Kingdoms. Above ground you only see the shattered remains of the former human capital; the story of its fall is told in the Lordaeron article. The city itself is a ring of quarters around canals of green sludge; see the Undercity article for more.

Nearby landmarks: the town of Brill to the northwest, the zeppelin tower between Brill and the ruins, and the road south into Silverpine Forest. The city has no level requirement, but the surrounding zone is meant for levels 1–10.

How to Get to Undercity as Horde

Undead from the starting zone

The Forsaken start in Deathknell in western Tirisfal. After the first quests, follow the road east to Brill and then southeast to the Ruins of Lordaeron. Your early quests lead you into the city on their own, and the quest route is covered in the undead starting guide.

Orcs, trolls and tauren

Get to Orgrimmar. Tauren from Thunder Bluff travel through the Barrens or fly by wind rider if the flight path is already known; there is no zeppelin from Mulgore in 1.12.
Climb the zeppelin tower outside Orgrimmar and wait for the flight to Undercity.
The zeppelin lands in Tirisfal at the tower between Brill and Undercity.
Go down the tower and follow the road southeast to the Ruins of Lordaeron.
Inside Undercity, learn the flight path: bats fly to the Sepulcher, Tarren Mill and further south.

From Stranglethorn Vale

A separate zeppelin flies from Grom'gol Base Camp straight to Tirisfal, landing at the same tower. This is handy if you are leveling in the south. How to Get to Undercity as Alliance

Undercity is an enemy capital, and the Alliance can only reach it on foot. Fair warning: the Forsaken guards are elite, Sylvanas Windrunner resides in the Royal Quarter, and on a PvP realm Horde players often wait at the entrance. Most Alliance players only come here with a raid.

From Ironforge, fly to Southshore in the Hillsbrad Foothills.
Head northwest and enter Silverpine Forest through the western pass, steering clear of the Sepulcher.
The road north leads into Tirisfal right to the Ruins of Lordaeron.
The second option is from Chillwind Camp in the Western Plaguelands, north to the Bulwark and then west.

Where the Undercity Entrance Is

Cross the ruined courtyard of the Ruins of Lordaeron and enter the throne room.
Behind the throne room, corridors lead to the elevators that descend into the city. Do not step off beside the platform: the fall is deadly even for the undead.

There are no portals to Undercity in 1.12: only the zeppelin, a bat, or your own feet.

Hearthstone and Binding

If you often travel between continents, set your hearthstone with Innkeeper Norman in the Trade Quarter. The stone recharges once an hour, and the zeppelins from both towers land in Tirisfal only a couple of minutes' walk from the city.
