How to Reach Tirisfal Glades and Undercity in WoW 1.12.1
How to get to Tirisfal Glades is a question asked by Horde players who want to start an undead character together with orc friends, and by everyone heading to Undercity or the Scarlet Monastery. Tirisfal Glades is a gloomy land in northern Lordaeron under a sickly green sky, the homeland of the Forsaken. Here are the routes for both factions on the WoW x5 server (Vanilla 1.12.1).

◆Where Tirisfal Glades Are
The zone lies on the northern coast of Lordaeron in the Eastern Kingdoms. It borders Silverpine Forest to the south and the Western Plaguelands to the east, with Lordamere Lake to the southeast. The recommended level is 1-10 - this is the undead starting zone. Subzones are described in the Tirisfal Glades article.
Key landmarks: the starting village of Deathknell in the west, the town of Brill in the center, the Ruins of Lordaeron with the entrance to Undercity in the southeast, the Bulwark on the Plaguelands border and the Scarlet Monastery in the northeast.
How to Get to Tirisfal Glades as Horde
Undead start right here, in Deathknell. Every other Horde race should take the zeppelin: in 1.12 the routes link Orgrimmar with Undercity, and both cities with Grom'gol Base Camp in Stranglethorn Vale.
From Orgrimmar (orcs, trolls, tauren):
- Tauren first walk from Thunder Bluff through the Barrens to Orgrimmar - there is no zeppelin from Mulgore in 1.12.
- Climb the zeppelin tower outside Orgrimmar and wait for the Undercity flight - a goblin zeppelin master stands on the platform.
- The zeppelin lands in Tirisfal, at the tower between Brill and Undercity.
- Go down from the tower: the road north leads to Brill, and southeast to the Ruins of Lordaeron and the Undercity entrance.
- Discover the flight path in Undercity - it is the only Horde flight path in the zone.
From Stranglethorn Vale: a separate zeppelin flies from Grom'gol Base Camp straight to Tirisfal - handy if you are leveling in the south of the continent.
If you are already in Silverpine Forest, simply follow the road north from the Sepulcher - it leads to the Ruins of Lordaeron.
How to Get to Tirisfal Glades as Alliance
Tirisfal is the heart of the Forsaken lands, and the Alliance usually comes here for the Scarlet Monastery. The Alliance has no flight paths in the zone.
- From Ironforge, fly to Southshore in Hillsbrad Foothills.
- Head northwest through Hillsbrad and enter Silverpine Forest through the western pass.
- Go north, giving the Sepulcher a wide berth: it is guarded by the Horde.
- The road brings you into Tirisfal near the Ruins of Lordaeron. Brill and the area around Undercity are guarded - keep your distance.
The second route goes through the Western Plaguelands. If you have the Chillwind Camp flight path, fly there and walk north to the Bulwark, then west into Tirisfal. Where the Entrances Are and What to Watch For
- The zeppelin tower stands between Brill and the Ruins of Lordaeron; both routes leave from it - to Orgrimmar and to Grom'gol Base Camp.
- The entrance to Undercity is through the Ruins of Lordaeron, with elevators leading down.
- The Scarlet Monastery is in the northeast of the zone, northeast of Brill. The route is covered in how to get to the Scarlet Monastery.
- There is no flight path at the Bulwark in 1.12: it was only added in patch 3.3.0.
