WoW Classic has no instant teleport for every whim: the world is huge and travel time is a real part of the game. But there are several tools that speed journeys up greatly. Those who use them well spend half as long running and level faster.
Always unlock new flight points, even if you do not plan to fly right now. Approaching a flight master once adds the path to the network forever — and later you can fly there without a long mounted ride.
Flight paths
The main way to cover long distances is flight paths. At flight masters in towns and camps you activate a point, and afterward you can fly between all unlocked points for gold.
The key rule is to unlock every new point as you pass it. A flight goes in a straight line and needs no attention: you can step away or rest. The denser your flight network, the less time you spend traveling between zones.
The hearthstone
The Hearthstone teleports you to your bound point once an hour. It is your personal fast ticket home:
- Bind the stone to an active hub — where you currently take quests or where your bank alt stands.
- Use it when you have banked a full batch of finished quests far from town.
- Rebind it as you change leveling zone.
Smart hearthstone use saves tens of minutes per session and pairs well with efficient questing.
Mounts and speed
Your own mount is the most noticeable jump in mobility. Key thresholds:

Portals and class abilities
Some classes move faster than others:
- The mage opens portals to capitals and teleports itself — the most mobile class, and also an income source selling portals to others.
- The druid in beast form runs faster and is not dismounted mid-path.
- The rogue and hunter speed up with sprints and tracking.
If you level a mage, portals are not only convenience but a service others gladly pay gold for. Everyone else relies on the flight network and a timely mount purchase.
