Where The Stockade Is Located

The Stockade is a small five-player dungeon in the Alliance capital of Stormwind, Eastern Kingdoms. Its entrance is hidden in the Canals — the network of waterways that separates the city's districts. The exact spot: the Stormwind Canals, the northern stretch of the canal by the Mage Quarter, a building with a meeting stone at the entrance. Inside the building a small open staircase leads down to the portal. A prison warden (Warden Thelwater) stands nearby and hands out the clean-up quests.

Minimum entry level: 15.
Recommended group level: about 22–30.
Enemies: elite inmates of level 23–26 and several named riot leaders.
Type: a short corridor of cells, no keys and no attunement.

Getting There as Alliance

For the Alliance, The Stockade is easier to reach than any other dungeon: you never have to leave your own capital.

Reach Stormwind. From Elwynn Forest, follow the main road through Goldshire to the city gates. From Ironforge, take the Deeprun Tram, which arrives in the Dwarven District. From Kalimdor, sail from Auberdine to Menethil Harbor and continue by gryphon.
If you arrive by gryphon, you land in the Trade District next to the main gates.
Walk deeper into the city toward the canals: stay on the main street and head for the canal that rings the Mage Quarter.
Look for the building with a meeting stone by its door on the northern stretch of the canal by the Mage Quarter: inside, a small open staircase leads down to the portal — that is the entrance to The Stockade.
Pick up the warden's quests before going in, and collect the other Stockade quests beforehand in Redridge Mountains, Duskwood and Stormwind.

Getting to The Stockade as Horde

The honest answer: for the Horde, The Stockade is practically out of reach. The dungeon is not blocked by faction, but its entrance sits in the middle of an enemy capital. To get there, a Horde player has to sneak through the gates and districts of Stormwind, where city guards and Alliance players will attack. For a level 20–30 character that is almost certain death.

That is why the Horde should pick its own dungeons in this level range, such as Ragefire Chasm early on and Blackfathom Deeps later. The game offers no special shortcut into the Alliance capital for Horde players.

Landmarks and Entrance Details

The entrance is inside the city. The Stockade is one of the few dungeons that needs no long journey: the whole group gathers right in the capital, and a meeting stone stands right by the door of the entrance building.
The building with a meeting stone on the northern stretch of the canal by the Mage Quarter is the main landmark. Inside, an open staircase leads down to the portal.
No keys or attunement, level 15 is enough.
It is cramped inside: the dungeon is a corridor of cells, and patrols or fleeing mobs easily pull neighbouring packs.

The Stockade is a fast experience dungeon for levels 22–30: dense packs of inmates and a bundle of quests that you turn in just a couple of minutes from the entrance. The loot is modest compared to other dungeons, so the value of a run is the experience and quest rewards.
