How to Get to Silithus: the Road Through Un'Goro Crater and Cenarion Hold
How to get to Silithus is a question every player faces around level 55 and again before the Ahn'Qiraj raids. Silithus lies in the far southwest of Kalimdor, and there is only one land route there — through Un'Goro Crater. Below are step-by-step routes for the Alliance and the Horde and landmarks to follow on the WoW x5 server.

◆Where Silithus Is Located
Silithus is a desert zone in the southwestern corner of Kalimdor, west of Un'Goro Crater. The recommended level is 55–60. The hub of the zone is neutral Cenarion Hold, a Cenarion Circle camp open to both factions: an inn, a mailbox, vendors and a flight master. In the south of the zone stand the Scarab Wall and the gates of Ahn'Qiraj, behind which lie the Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj (20 players) and the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj (40 players).
The key point: there is only one land entrance to Silithus — from the northwest corner of Un'Goro Crater. Silithus is not connected by road to Feralas, Desolace or Tanaris.
◆Getting There as Alliance
- Reach Gadgetzan in Tanaris. From the Eastern Kingdoms, take the boat from Menethil Harbor to Theramore and continue by gryphon. There is no direct road from Dustwallow Marsh to Tanaris — on foot you go through The Barrens and Thousand Needles.
- From Gadgetzan head west to the edge of Tanaris, where the road descends into Un'Goro Crater.
- Cross the crater to the northwest. Your landmark is the river winding through the crater; the trail to Silithus starts at its northwestern end, at roughly 29, 21 on the Un'Goro map, where two stone pillars stand.
- Climb the switchback trail up the slope — it leads into Silithus.
- Head to Cenarion Hold in the center of the zone and discover the flight path right away.
◆Getting There as Horde
- Reach Gadgetzan. If the Tanaris flight path is already discovered, fly from Orgrimmar or Thunder Bluff. If not, walk south from the Barrens through Thousand Needles and the Shimmering Flats into Tanaris.
- From Gadgetzan go west to the descent into Un'Goro Crater.
- Cross the crater to the northwest corner, to the head of the river and the two stone pillars.
- Climb the trail into Silithus.
- Discover the flight path at the Horde flight master in Cenarion Hold.
Your first trip to Silithus is always on foot. Take your time: on the way through Un'Goro pick up a few quests and discover the Gadgetzan flight path if you do not have it yet. More on routes in the flight paths guide.
Where the Entrance Is and How Not to Get Lost
- The descent into Un'Goro is on the western edge of Tanaris. The crater is deep and full of aggressive dinosaurs and elite mobs, so characters below level 48 should move carefully.
- The exit to Silithus is in the northwest corner of the crater, at the head of the river. The trail winds up the slope and comes out in the northern part of Silithus.
- Cenarion Hold is south of the exit, in the center of the zone. It is the only large safe camp in Silithus.
- The gates of Ahn'Qiraj are in the south of the zone. The full route to the raids is described in the guide how to get to Ahn'Qiraj.
| Route | Alliance | Horde |
|---|---|---|
| To Tanaris | Boat Menethil to Theramore, then gryphon | Flight from Orgrimmar or on foot via Thousand Needles |
| Tanaris to Un'Goro | On foot west of Gadgetzan | On foot west of Gadgetzan |
| Un'Goro to Silithus | Trail in the northwest corner of the crater | Same trail |
| Return trips | Flight to Cenarion Hold | Flight to Cenarion Hold |
◆Why Go to Silithus
Silithus is one of the final leveling zones and an important destination for level 60 characters. Here you will find:
- Cenarion Hold quests against the silithid and the Twilight's Hammer cult — covered in the Silithus leveling guide;
- Cenarion Circle reputation — see the Cenarion Circle reputation guide;
- world PvP over Silithyst, added in patch 1.12;
- the Ahn'Qiraj raids in the south of the zone.
If you are only approaching the zone, first work through Un'Goro Crater leveling — the road to Silithus runs through the crater anyway.

FAQ
?How do you get to Silithus for the first time?
Only on foot through Un'Goro Crater. Fly to Gadgetzan in Tanaris, descend into the crater from the western edge of Tanaris and cross it to the northwest corner, where a trail climbs the slope into Silithus.
?Is there a flight path in Silithus?
Yes. Neutral Cenarion Hold in the center of Silithus has flight masters for both the Alliance and the Horde. You have to discover it on foot once, after which you can fly there, for example from Gadgetzan.
?What level is Silithus for?
Silithus is a zone for roughly levels 55–60 and also holds the level 60 Ahn'Qiraj raids. Un'Goro Crater, which the road passes through, is aimed at roughly levels 48–55.
?Does Silithus border Feralas or Desolace?
No. In Vanilla 1.12.1 there is only one land entrance to Silithus — from the northwest corner of Un'Goro Crater. From Feralas you can only fly in, once the needed flight path has been discovered.
