How to Get to Timbermaw Hold: Entrance, Tunnel and Reputation

Section: World & travel 4 min read Vanilla 1.12.1 · x5 Updated 13.10.2026

How to get to Timbermaw Hold is the first question for level 48–55 players heading to Winterspring or Moonglade. The Timbermaw furbolg stronghold is an underground tunnel through the mountains and the only overland route between the three northern zones of Kalimdor. Below you will find the entrance, Alliance and Horde routes and the reputation you need on the WoW x5 server (Vanilla 1.12.1).

Where Timbermaw Hold is located

The hold lies in northern Kalimdor, in the mountains between three zones:

  • Felwood — the main entrance in the north-east of the zone, recommended level 48–55;
  • Moonglade — an exit into the south-western part of the glade;
  • Winterspring — an exit in the west of the zone, level 53–60.

Inside the mountain the tunnel leads to the main Timbermaw hall and then forks: one branch climbs to Moonglade, the other runs to Winterspring. For the faction and its history see Timbermaw Hold in the knowledge base.

Getting there as Alliance

  1. If you already have the Talonbranch Glade flight point in northern Felwood, fly there from Rut'theran — the tunnel entrance is close by.
  2. First time: from Darnassus go down to Rut'theran, sail to Auberdine and travel through Darkshore into Ashenvale (Astranaar flight point).
  3. From Ashenvale head north into Felwood and follow the road to the north-east — the route is covered in how to get to Felwood.
  4. Discover Talonbranch Glade and walk to the Timbermaw gate in the north-east of the zone.

Getting there as Horde

  1. If you already have the Bloodvenom Post flight point, fly there from Orgrimmar.
  2. First time: leave Orgrimmar for the Barrens, head north into Ashenvale (Splintertree Post is the Horde flight point) and continue into Felwood.
  3. From Bloodvenom Post follow the road to the north and north-east of the zone, to the Timbermaw gate.
  4. Pass through the tunnel and choose your branch: Moonglade or Winterspring.

The return trip is easiest from Everlook in Winterspring: it has flight masters for both factions, and the road west from Everlook leads to the tunnel exit — see how to get to Everlook.

The entrance and reputation requirements

The gate is a huge carved furbolg-head arch in the rock. Outside the Felwood entrance stands the furbolg Nafien, at the Winterspring exit stands Salfa, and in the main hall you will find the quartermaster Meilosh and Gorn One Eye.

  • In 1.12.1 Timbermaw Hold reputation starts at Hostile — the tunnel guards attack.
  • At Unfriendly the furbolgs stop attacking and the tunnel becomes safe.
  • The fastest way out of Hostile is killing Deadwood furbolgs in Felwood or Winterfall furbolgs in Winterspring — details in the Timbermaw Hold reputation guide.

The whole hold counts as part of Felwood: if you die in the tunnel, your spirit appears at the Irontree Woods graveyard. There is another Timbermaw gate in Azshara, but it offers no way through.

Совет

Druids do not have to walk: Teleport: Moonglade, learned at level 10, takes you straight to Nighthaven, a short walk from the tunnel exit.

FAQ

Where is the Timbermaw Hold entrance?

The main entrance is in north-eastern Felwood, close to the Talonbranch Glade flight point. The tunnel has two more exits: into south-western Moonglade and into western Winterspring.

What reputation do I need to pass the tunnel?

In 1.12.1 Timbermaw Hold reputation starts at Hostile and the tunnel guards attack. At Unfriendly the furbolgs stop attacking and the tunnel is safe to pass.

How do I get out of Hostile quickly?

Kill Deadwood furbolgs in Felwood or Winterfall furbolgs in Winterspring. Each kill grants reputation, and a few dozen kills are enough to reach Unfriendly.

Where do I resurrect if I die in the tunnel?

The whole of Timbermaw Hold counts as part of Felwood, so your spirit appears at the Irontree Woods graveyard in Felwood.
