Once a living wood, it is scorched by demonic taint: defiled moonwells, satyrs, demons and corrupted beasts. Through Timbermaw Hold, a pass leads to Moonglade and Winterspring.
Felwood is a convenient transit zone at 48–55: bases for both factions, Cenarion Circle cleansing quests, Timbermaw reputation and the world Emerald Dragons at the Dream portals.
Level range and how to get there
The recommended range is level 48–55. Alliance base at Talonbranch Glade in the north, Horde at Bloodvenom Post in the south-west. The zone borders Ashenvale to the south; to the north Timbermaw Hold leads into Moonglade and Winterspring.

Elite fel demons and corrupted ancients roam the zone, and at the northern Emerald portal one of the world bosses periodically appears — the Emerald Dragons of Nightmare (Dragons of Nightmare). Ordinary elites are duoable; the dragon is a 40-player raid target.

There are no classic dungeons in Felwood. The zone's main endgame target is the world raid boss Emerald Dragon of Nightmare at one of the four Emerald portals (in the north). The nearest instances are in neighbouring Kalimdor zones.
Tips for the x5 server
- On x5 the 48–55 range is quick — combine base quests with Timbermaw farming on the way north.
- Collect corrupted flowers for the Cenarion Circle cleansing quests — turned in at Moonglade for reputation.
- Start the Timbermaw Hold grind here: friendship opens a safe pass into Winterspring.
- Watch for satyrs and demons — keep Shadow/Fel protection and potions ready.
- Professions: Felwood grows plenty of herbs (Purple Lotus, Plaguebloom) and has mithril/thorium veins.
