Winterspring is the snowbound north-east of Kalimdor, a 53–60 zone on the slopes of Hyjal. The neutral goblin town of Everlook sits in the centre. Yetis, bears, chimaerae, wildkin and Winterfall furbolgs roam here, and the Wintersaber Trainers grant the Alliance an epic frostsaber mount.

Winterspring is a great final-stretch 53–60 zone: a neutral Everlook base, rich farming and two valuable reputations at once — the Wintersaber Trainers (an Alliance mount) and Timbermaw Hold (safe passage through the tunnel to Felwood and Moonglade).

Level range and how to get there

The recommended range is level 53–60. The zone hub is neutral Everlook, a Steamwheedle Cartel goblin town with an inn, bank, auction house and flight masters for both factions. On foot you can only arrive through the Timbermaw Hold tunnel from the northeastern corner of Felwood. To keep the tunnel guards from attacking, raise Timbermaw Hold to at least Unfriendly.

Quest hubs and chains

Key hubs:

Everlook — the neutral Are We There, Yeti? chain (Umi Rumplesnicker), hunts on Shardtooth bears and Chillwind chimaerae (Storm Shadowhoof), and Trouble in Winterspring!.
Frostfire Hot Springs — Donova Snowden and her chain about the corrupted Winterfall furbolgs: Threat of the Winterfall, Winterfall Firewater, Winterfall Runners and the group finale High Chief Winterfall.
Timbermaw tunnel exit — the furbolg Salfa: Winterfall Activity and Winterfall Spirit Beads turn-ins for reputation.
Starfall Village (Alliance) — the Ruins of Kel'Theril chain and the Enraged Wildkin quests.
Frostsaber Rock in the north — Rivern Frostwind and the repeatable Wintersaber Trainers quests (Alliance only).

The Horde also picks up the Wild Guardians chain about Winterspring's wildkin at Bloodvenom Post in Felwood.

Elites

The zone's elite areas: Mazthoril — an icy blue dragon cavern with Haleh at its peak; Frostwhisper Gorge in the south — elite Frostmaul giants and Ice Avatars; Darkwhisper Gorge in the far south — elite demons tuned for a five-player group. Go there at level 60 and in a group.

Nearby dungeons

There are no instances in Winterspring itself. Haleh in Mazthoril continues the Matron Protectorate quest from Upper Blackrock Spire, and in Everlook Malyfous Darkhammer gives quests for blacksmiths.

Tips for the x5 server

On x5 the 53–60 range is fast — combine Everlook quests with reputation farming.
Alliance should start the Wintersaber Trainers grind early: in 1.12 the road to Exalted is very long.
Grind Timbermaw Hold: from Unfriendly the tunnel is safe.
Winterspring is the only place where Icecap grows; Black Lotus, Mountain Silversage and Thorium veins are here too.
Bring Frost Protection potions for the elite areas — blue dragons and Ice Avatars deal frost damage.

Where to go next

At level 60 leveling is done — move to the endgame: Eastern Kingdoms dungeons (Stratholme, Blackrock Mountain) and raids.

Are there dungeons in Winterspring?

There are no instances in the zone. Instead it has elite open-world areas: Mazthoril, the blue dragon cavern, Frostwhisper Gorge with Frostmaul giants and Darkwhisper Gorge with demons — go there as a level 60 group.

How do I get the frostsaber mount?

Raise your reputation with the Wintersaber Trainers to Exalted through the repeatable quests of Rivern Frostwind at Frostsaber Rock in the north of the zone. The mount is Alliance-only.
