Wetlands is a damp contested zone for levels 20–30, north of Loch Modan. It holds Menethil Harbor with boats to other continents, roaming raptors and crocolisks, plus quests from Dwarven diggers and Dragonmaw orcs. The zone matters both for experience and as an Alliance travel hub. On x5 it clears in an evening.
Level range and how to get there
Range: Levels 20–30. North of Loch Modan through Dun Algaz. The hub is Menethil Harbor in the west with boats to Dustwallow Marsh (Theramore) and Darkshore. The flight path and inn are here too.
Quest hubs and chains
Menethil Harbor — the main hub: crocolisk, smuggling and scouting quests. Whelgar's Excavation in the centre (raptors and artefacts). Quests against Dragonmaw orcs at Angerfang Encampment in the north-east and Dark Iron dwarves on Thandol Span.

Elites and danger spots
Dragonmaw orcs hold Angerfang Encampment in the north-east, and Dark Iron dwarves guard Thandol Span. Most quests are solo, but the orc camp raids are easier with a partner.
Nearby dungeons
The zone has no dungeon of its own. By level, 25–35 instances fit next; Uldaman comes later to the south. From Menethil Harbor the boats reach other zones quickly.
Leveling tips for x5
- Turn in quests in batches and return to the hub less often — on x5 experience pours in and running around wastes time.
- Keep your gear fresh: hit the auction house and an enchanter every 5–7 levels.
- Carry food, water and bandages — on boosted rates a regen pause noticeably slows your pace.
- Team up for group and elite quests with passers-by to clear them without needless deaths.
- Do not over-level: once the zone stops offering yellow quests, move on along the route.
Where to go next
Around 28–30 head to Stranglethorn Vale (30–45) via the Wetlands road, Arathi Highlands (30–40) to the north, or take a boat to Dustwallow Marsh.
