How to Get to Shadowfang Keep
Shadowfang Keep (SFK) is an atmospheric level 18-25 dungeon in the west of Silverpine Forest. The grim castle is overrun by the worgen of Archmage Arugal. It is one of the first dungeons for the Horde and a popular early farming spot. Here is how both factions get there.
◆Where the keep is
The castle stands in the west of Silverpine Forest, on a rise above Pyrewood Village, near the Greymane Wall. The instance entrance is in the courtyard at the top of the keep, reached by a staircase.
◆How the Horde gets there
For the Horde this is the nearest dungeon:
- From Undercity exit into Tirisfal Glades.
- Head south into Silverpine Forest.
- The nearest hub is The Sepulcher in the center of the zone; open the flight path there.
- From The Sepulcher follow the road west to the keep above Pyrewood.
◆How the Alliance gets there
It is harder for the Alliance — Silverpine leans Horde:
- Come down from Hillsbrad Foothills north into Silverpine (or sail to Menethil and travel overland).
- Carefully cross the zone to the western road — hostile NPCs and frequent world PvP.
- Climb to the keep above Pyrewood.
◆What is inside
- Bosses: Rethilgore, Razorclaw, Baron Silverlaine, Commander Springvale, Odo the Blindwatcher, Fenrus, Wolf Master Nandos and Archmage Arugal.
- Great loot and XP for the level; on x5 a group forms in minutes.

The keep sits on a rise, and on the way to the courtyard you meet the cursed folk of Pyrewood. Do not waste time picking them off one by one — run to the staircase at the instance entrance; all the real clearing happens inside the dungeon.
