How to Get to Lakeshire in Redridge Mountains — WoW 1.12.1

Section: World & travel 4 min read Vanilla 1.12.1 · x5 Updated 14.10.2026

How to get to Lakeshire is the first question for an Alliance character who has outgrown Elwynn Forest and is looking for the next zone. Lakeshire is the main town of the Redridge Mountains on the shore of Lake Everstill, with its own flight path and inn. On WoW x5 you get here by level 15, so it pays to know the route in advance.

Where Lakeshire is located

Lakeshire lies in the western part of the Redridge Mountains, a mountainous zone east of Elwynn Forest and north of Duskwood. The town sprawls along the shore of the large Lake Everstill, and the Burning Steppes border Redridge to the north. More about the zone on the Redridge Mountains wiki page.

The recommended zone level is 15–25. The town constantly suffers raids by Blackrock orcs and gnolls, so there is plenty of questing to do.

How to get there as Alliance

  1. From Stormwind head south to Goldshire — the route is described in how to get to Goldshire.
  2. From Goldshire keep following the main road east across the whole of Elwynn Forest, past the Eastvale Logging Camp.
  3. The road climbs into the mountains and reaches the Three Corners crossroads, where the paths split towards Goldshire, Lakeshire and Darkshire.
  4. At the crossroads follow the signpost to Lakeshire and continue to the lake shore.
  5. Pick up the flight path in town right away — next time you can fly here from Stormwind.

Dwarves and gnomes first need to ride the Deeprun Tram to Stormwind, while night elves sail to Menethil Harbor and make their way to the capital. The general layout of routes into the zone is in how to get to the Redridge Mountains, and the forest route in how to get to Elwynn Forest.

How to get there as Horde

The Horde has neither a flight path nor quests in Redridge, so Lakeshire is purely a raid target.

  1. The nearest Horde flight path is Flame Crest in the Burning Steppes. See how to get to the Burning Steppes.
  2. From the Burning Steppes head south down into Redridge and travel west along the lake to Lakeshire.
  3. The alternative is the zeppelin to Grom'gol Base Camp, then north through Duskwood to the Three Corners crossroads.

Keep in mind that the town is guarded and Alliance players level here in large numbers.

What you will find in Lakeshire

The town has a flight path, an inn run by Innkeeper Brianna where you can bind your Hearthstone, a mailbox and vendors. Magistrate Solomon sits in the town hall and is the main quest giver of Redridge. Near the bridge stand Marshal Marris and Foreman Oslow: the bridge across the lake was damaged by the orcs, and the workers need help recovering their lost tools.

Redridge and Duskwood are connected through Three Corners. Bind your Hearthstone in Lakeshire, and once you move on to Duskwood rebind it in Darkshire.

What to do in Lakeshire

Lakeshire quests send you to the gnoll lairs of Galardell Valley, the Tower of Ilgalar, the orc-held Stonewatch Keep and Render's Valley. There are also peaceful errands, such as dealing with the murlocs on Lake Everstill. The full quest order is in the Redridge Mountains leveling guide.

After Redridge the natural next step is south: from Three Corners the road leads into Duskwood — see how to get to Duskwood and the Duskwood leveling guide.
