How to Get to Feralas: Feathermoon Stronghold, Camp Mojache and the Roads
How to get to Feralas is a question players face around level 40: the zone lies in southwestern Kalimdor, and the main Alliance camp even stands on an island. This guide for the WoW x5 server covers routes for the Alliance and the Horde, flight points, the boat to Feathermoon Stronghold and landmarks.

◆Where Feralas is
Feralas is a lush jungle in southwestern Kalimdor, surrounded by arid neighbours. To the north it borders Desolace, to the east Thousand Needles. The recommended level is roughly 40-50. More about the zone on the Feralas wiki page.
Faction hubs:
- Feathermoon Stronghold — the Alliance base on Sardor Isle off the west coast.
- Thalanaar — a tiny Alliance outpost on the eastern border with Thousand Needles.
- Camp Mojache — the Horde tauren settlement in the eastern part of the zone.
How to get there as Alliance
The main route is from Desolace:
- Fly to Nijel's Point in Desolace.
- Follow the road south, past the Twin Colossals, into Feralas.
- Head for the west coast, to the Forgotten Coast. There is a dock there.
- Board the ship to Sardor Isle: the trip takes a couple of minutes with no loading screen. You can swim the strait as well, but the ship is more reliable.
- Discover the flight point in Feathermoon Stronghold.
The second route goes through Thalanaar in the east: you can fly there from Theramore and Gadgetzan, but walking west from Thalanaar through the middle of the zone is noticeably more dangerous. All flights are listed in the flight paths guide.
How to get there as Horde
For the Horde the main entrance is from the east:
- Fly to Freewind Post in Thousand Needles.
- Follow the main road northwest. On the way you pass the Alliance outpost of Thalanaar — give it a wide berth.
- Shortly after entering the jungle you reach Camp Mojache — discover its flight point.
From Mojache there are flights to Thunder Bluff, the Crossroads, Freewind Post, Gadgetzan and the Horde camp in Desolace. If you come from Desolace, go south along the road past the colossi and turn east towards the camp.
◆Landmarks and features
- Feathermoon Stronghold is the only large Alliance camp in the west of the zone, and you can reach it only by water.
- In the centre of Feralas stand the ruins that hold the Dire Maul dungeon. How to find its entrances is covered in a separate guide, how to get to Dire Maul.
- The north of the zone is held by the Gordunni ogres, the western islands by naga — from level 40 stay on the roads.
- There are no flying mounts or portals in 1.12.1 — only your feet, the ship and flight paths.
Route table
| Route | Alliance | Horde |
|---|---|---|
| Main flight point | Feathermoon Stronghold (island) | Camp Mojache |
| Entrance from Desolace | South from Nijel's Point | South from the Horde camp in Desolace |

| Special note | Ship from the Forgotten Coast | Walk along the road |
◆Why go to Feralas
Feralas is one of the best zones for levels 40-50: lots of quests, ogres, yetis and naga. The quest route is laid out in the Feralas leveling guide. If you arrive from neighbouring zones, see the Desolace leveling guide and the Thousand Needles leveling guide.
At 55-60 you will come back for Dire Maul: discover the flight point before your first run so you do not have to walk later. The world travel guide shows how to save time on the road.
