Feralas: Quests, Farming, and Dire Maul
Feralas is a lush rainforest in southwestern Kalimdor, full of ancient trees, night elf ruins, ogre camps and islands off the western coast. Recommended level range: 40-50. On WoW x5 you'll clear it quickly, but you'll be back later for Dire Maul.

Feathermoon Stronghold sits on Sardor Isle. A boat runs from the dock on the Forgotten Coast, or you can simply swim the strait. Grab the island flight path right away.
Alliance Quests
Alliance players quest out of Feathermoon Stronghold, led by General Shandris Feathermoon:
- The Ruins of Solarsal and Against the Hatecrest — fight the Hatecrest naga, leading to Against Lord Shalzaru in his Isle of Dread cave.
- The Missing Courier — a long chain through the Woodpaw gnolls to the silithid hive in the Writhing Deep (Freed from the Hive, Rise of the Silithid).
- In Search of Knowledge — Troyas Moonbreeze's chain through Teldrassil and Tanaris, ending with The Stave of Equinex at the harpy-infested Ruins of Ravenwind.
- Freedom for All Creatures — Kindal Moonweaver at the Grimtotem Compound asks you to free the captive Sprite Darters; via Doling Justice the chain leads to Becoming a Parent and the Sprite Darter Hatchling pet (Alliance-only in 1.12.1).
Horde Quests
Horde players work out of Camp Mojache:
- War on the Woodpaw — Hadoken Swiftstrider's chain: Woodpaw gnolls, Woodpaw Investigation, The Battle Plans, then the Zukk'ash silithid (Zukk'ash Infestation, Stinglasher).
- The Ogres of Feralas — Rok Orhan sends you to clear the Gordunni camps; a scroll found on the ogres starts The Gordunni Scroll → Dark Ceremony → The Gordunni Orb.
- Witch Doctor Uzer'i's muisek chain (Hippogryph Muisek and others), ending with Weapons of Spirit.
- A Threat in Feralas — Belgrom Rockmaul's call from Orgrimmar to fight the Gordunni.
Both factions can do the neutral quests: the OOX-22/FE robot chicken and Zorbin Fandazzle's Zapped Giants on the Forgotten Coast.
◆Farming Spots
Gordunni Ogres
Where: Gordunni Outpost in the northeast and the Ruins of Isildien in the southwest.
Ogres are humanoids, so they drop cloth (mostly Mageweave Cloth), coin and random greens.
Isle of Dread
An elite area with level 60-62 chimaerok and their leader Lord Lakmaeran. Raids come here for The Isle of Dread! from Dirge Quikcleave in Gadgetzan, unlocking Dirge's Kickin' Chimaerok Chops.
Herbs and Ore
- Herbs: Liferoot, Goldthorn, Khadgar's Whisker, Purple Lotus, Sungrass, Golden Sansam.
- Ore: Silver, Iron, Gold, Mithril and Truesilver deposits, plus Small Thorium Veins.
Jademir Lake
On an island in Jademir Lake stands the Great Tree Dream Bough, a portal to the Emerald Dream where the Dragons of Nightmare spawn. It is an elite area — stay away at 40-50.
◆Dire Maul
Dire Maul — the ruined Highborne city of Eldre'Thalas — has three wings:
