A mirror of the living world
The Dream exists outside time and space, reflecting every blade of grass and mountain of Azeroth in its pristine form. It forever shifts and grows, an untouched ideal of the wild over which Ysera and her green flight keep watch.
Keeper of the Dream
After the War of the Ancients, Ysera sank into an eternal trance to bind her mind to the Dream and guard it. It was through her gift to Nordrassil that the night elf druids gained access to this realm.
The path of the druids
The druids of the Cenarion Circle pass into the Dream in spirit during a deep trance, learning from nature and renewing their bond with it. For them the Emerald Dream is a school, a sanctuary and a source of the power granted by Cenarius.

Not all is serene in the Dream: a darkness has crept into its depths, birthing the Nightmare. Four green dragons went mad from the corruption and burst into the waking world — they can be met in Azeroth as world bosses. So the Emerald Dream touches WoW Classic directly.
