Dustwallow Marsh is a dark, fog-drenched tropical swamp on the eastern shore of Kalimdor, wedged between the Barrens and Thousand Needles. It is one of the most atmospheric zones in Vanilla WoW: thick mists roll over black water, crocodiles lurk in the shallows, and naga patrol the shoreline. At the heart of the zone stands the mysterious Dustwallow castle, home to undead guardians and dark secrets. The zone covers levels 35–45 and offers dense quest content for both factions — Alliance at Theramore Isle and Horde at Brackenwall Village. Quests and Quest Hubs
Theramore Isle (Alliance) — a fortified port city on the eastern coast. Lady Jaina Proudmoore presides here. Dozens of quests cover swamp exploration, fighting naga and black dragons, and a chain uncovering a conspiracy inside the fortress walls.
Brackenwall Village (Horde) — a small ogre settlement allied with the Horde in the center of the zone. Quests target naga, the Mudsprocket goblins, and swamp reconnaissance missions.
Mudsprocket — a goblin village in the southern swamp. Neutral to both factions. Unique quests here involve investigating a shipwreck and searching for survivors of a doomed expedition.
Dustwallow Keep — an abandoned castle at the heart of the marsh. Populated by elite undead mobs and the setting for several major quest chains from both factions.
Black Dragonflight Lair — dragon whelp territory in the northern zone. Several steps of the Onyxia attunement chain begin with scouting this location.
