How to Reach Duskwood in WoW 1.12.1
How to get to Duskwood matters to level 18-30 characters of both factions: the Alliance levels here after Westfall and Redridge, and the Horde passes through the forest on the way north from Stranglethorn Vale. Duskwood is an ever-dark woodland south of Elwynn Forest, full of undead, worgen and spiders. Here are all the ways in on the WoW x5 server (Vanilla 1.12.1).

◆Where Duskwood Is
Duskwood lies in the south of the Eastern Kingdoms. Elwynn Forest borders it to the north, Westfall to the west, the Redridge Mountains to the northeast, Deadwind Pass to the east and Stranglethorn Vale to the south. The recommended level is 18-30. Subzones and the zone storyline are covered in the Duskwood article.
Key landmarks: the town of Darkshire in the east, the abandoned village of Raven Hill and Raven Hill Cemetery in the west, Twilight Grove in the center and Roland's Doom, an old mine in the north.

How to Get to Duskwood as Alliance
The Alliance has three land entrances, and all of them follow roads.
- From Stormwind: go out into Elwynn Forest and from Goldshire follow the road south to the bridge over the border river. The road then runs east through the forest straight to Darkshire.
- From Westfall: from Sentinel Hill, head east along the road to the bridge. It leads to Raven Hill in western Duskwood.
- From Redridge: from Three Corners, follow the road south across the bridge - you arrive in the northeast of the zone, close to Darkshire.
Discover the flight path in Darkshire: after that you can fly here by gryphon from Stormwind. Dwarves and gnomes first ride the Deeprun Tram from Ironforge to Stormwind, and night elves sail through Auberdine and Menethil Harbor.
How to Get to Duskwood as Horde
The Horde has no flight path in Duskwood in 1.12, but the trip is short: the zone borders Stranglethorn Vale, which is served by zeppelins.
- Take the zeppelin from Orgrimmar or Undercity to Grom'gol Base Camp in Stranglethorn Vale.
- Discover the flight path at Grom'gol - it is your closest flight master.
- Get on the main road and head north, across the bridge over the gorge.
- The road leads straight into southern Duskwood. To the northeast is Darkshire with its Alliance guards, to the west Raven Hill and Westfall, to the east Deadwind Pass.
If this is your first trip to Stranglethorn, see the guide on how to get to Stranglethorn Vale.
Where the Entrances Are and What to Watch For
- The bridge from Elwynn Forest is on the northern border; the bridge from Westfall is on the western border near Raven Hill; the bridge from Redridge is in the northeast.
- The southern entrance from Stranglethorn Vale is the bridge over the gorge on the main road.
- In the east the forest turns into Deadwind Pass, where the road continues to the Swamp of Sorrows - see the guide on how to get to the Swamp of Sorrows.
- Since patch 1.8 Raven Hill Cemetery has a spirit healer, which makes Horde trips through the western part of the zone easier.

Routes to Duskwood: Summary Table
| Step | Alliance | Horde |
|---|---|---|
| Start | Stormwind | Orgrimmar or Undercity |
| Transport | Gryphon to Darkshire | Zeppelin to Grom'gol Base Camp |
| On foot | Elwynn, Westfall or Redridge | Northern Stranglethorn, bridge over the gorge |
| Closest flight path | Darkshire | Grom'gol Base Camp |
Hunters and shamans will find Aspect of the Cheetah and Ghost Wolf very useful here - the roads are long and there is only one flight path.
◆Why Go to Duskwood
For the Alliance this is one of the main level 20s zones, with long Darkshire quest chains, including the story covered in the Stalvan quest chain guide. The quest order is in the Duskwood leveling guide. At level 60, one of the Dragons of Nightmare appears at Twilight Grove. To shorten trips between the southern zones, read the flight paths guide and the world travel guide.
