How to Reach Hillsbrad Foothills in WoW 1.12.1

◆Where Hillsbrad Foothills Are

The zone lies in the Eastern Kingdoms, on the southern edge of the former kingdom of Lordaeron. It borders Silverpine Forest to the west, the Alterac Mountains to the north and the Arathi Highlands to the east, while a trail in the northeast leads into the Hinterlands. The sea lies to the south. The recommended level is 20-30. History and subzones are covered in the Hillsbrad article.

Key landmarks: Southshore on the southern coast, Hillsbrad Fields with its town hall and farms in the west, Tarren Mill in the northeast, Durnholde Keep east of the river, Azurelode Mine in the southwest and the elite Purgation Isle off the southern shore.

How to Get to Hillsbrad as Alliance

The Alliance route is long, but along the way you pick up the Thelsamar, Menethil Harbor and Refuge Pointe flight paths.

1. From Stormwind, ride the Deeprun Tram to Ironforge.
2. Head east into Loch Modan and follow the road north through the Dun Algaz tunnel into the Wetlands - details in how to get to the Wetlands.
3. In the Wetlands, follow the road northeast and cross the Thandol Span into the Arathi Highlands.
4. Follow the road north to Refuge Pointe and discover the flight path.
5. From Refuge Pointe, take the road west and pass through the gap in Thoradin's Wall - Hillsbrad begins on the other side.
6. Southshore lies south of the road, on the coast. Talk to the gryphon master there to discover the flight path.

There is also a shortcut: from Menethil Harbor you can swim north along the coast all the way to Southshore, avoiding the sea creatures. The downside is that you skip the Refuge Pointe flight path.

How to Get to Hillsbrad as Horde

For the Horde, Hillsbrad is the natural next step after Silverpine Forest.

1. From Orgrimmar, take the zeppelin to Tirisfal Glades and enter Undercity. If the city is new to you, see the Undercity city guide.
2. Fly from Undercity to The Sepulcher in Silverpine Forest, or walk there along the road south.
3. From The Sepulcher, head east to the main road and follow it south. The road bends east and leads into Hillsbrad.
4. At the signposted fork, turn north towards Tarren Mill, then east at the next signpost.
5. The flight master stands at the entrance to Tarren Mill. Once discovered, you can fly there directly from Undercity.

Where the Entrances Are and What to Watch For

• The Silverpine road is the western entrance, used by almost every Horde player.
• Thoradin's Wall is the eastern entrance from the Arathi Highlands: the main road runs through a gap in the ancient wall.
• The northern trails lead into the Alterac Mountains, home to both entrances of the Alterac Valley battleground.
• The trail to the Hinterlands starts northeast of Tarren Mill; guardian gryphons roam the gate to the pass.
• Hillsbrad is a contested zone: players often clash between Southshore and Tarren Mill, so stay on the roads and do not linger near the enemy base.

The zone is packed with quests against gnolls, murlocs and the Syndicate, Forsaken quests about the new plague and Southshore's chains against Syndicate agents.
