The Kingdom of Alterac belonged to the Alliance in the Second War, but its king Aiden Perenolde secretly betrayed his allies, taking the Horde's gold. When the treason came to light, the Alliance deposed Alterac and stripped its nobles of their titles. Landless, the aristocrats banded together as the Syndicate.
