The Biggest Bag in WoW Classic 1.12.1: Ranking 16 and 18 Slot Bags
The biggest bag in WoW Classic for regular items holds 18 slots — patch 1.12.1 has nothing larger. Only four such bags exist, and a few more offer 16 slots. On the WoW x5 server players reach level 60 quickly, so the question of endgame bags comes up within the first weeks. Below is the full ranking, the sources and advice on what is worth paying for.

◆What counts as a big bag in 1.12.1
In Vanilla the starting backpack gives 16 slots and you add 4 bags to it — see the bags in WoW Classic hub. For regular bags the cap is 18 slots. Bags with 20, 24 and 28 slots exist too, but they are specialized: herb and enchanting bags and soul shard bags. Hunter quivers and ammo pouches are also larger, but they accept ammunition only.
◆18 slot bags
- Bottomless Bag — the only 18-slot bag you can buy. Tailors with 300 skill sew it from a very rare world-drop pattern. Reagents: 8 Bolts of Runecloth, 12 Mooncloth, 2 Large Brilliant Shards, 2 Core Leather and 2 Rune Thread. Binds when equipped.
- Onyxia Hide Backpack — dropped by Onyxia in Onyxia's Lair. Binds when picked up and is rolled for in the raid.
- Panther Hide Sack — a rare drop from High Priestess Arlokk in Zul'Gurub. Unique, binds when picked up.
- Supply Bag — one of the reward choices in the Superior Armaments of Battle quests from Quartermaster Miranda Breechlock at Light's Hope Chapel. Requires Friendly with the Argent Dawn and a turn-in of insignias. Unique, binds when picked up.

◆16 slot bags
- Mooncloth Bag — Tailoring 300, the pattern is a world drop. It takes 4 Bolts of Runecloth, 1 Mooncloth and 1 Rune Thread. Does not bind at all.
- Traveler's Backpack — a world drop from level 49 to 61 mobs and chests. Does not bind either.
- Wayfarer's Knapsack — dropped by the goblin Ribbly Screwspigot in the tavern of Blackrock Depths. Unique, binds when picked up.
- Demon Hide Sack — one of the rewards of the final quest You Are Rakh'likh, Demon in the Fallen Hero of the Horde chain (Blasted Lands).
- Pumpkin Bag — a seasonal drop from level 30+ mobs during Hallow's End, if the event runs on the server.

◆Comparison table
| Bag | Slots | Source | Requirements |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bottomless Bag | 18 | Tailoring | 300 skill, rare pattern |
| Onyxia Hide Backpack | 18 | Onyxia's Lair | 40-player raid |
| Panther Hide Sack | 18 | Zul'Gurub, Arlokk | 20-player raid |
| Supply Bag | 18 | Argent Dawn | Friendly, insignias |
| Mooncloth Bag | 16 | Tailoring | 300 skill |
| Traveler's Backpack | 16 | World drop | Level 49 to 61 mobs |
| Wayfarer's Knapsack | 16 | Blackrock Depths | Dungeon, level 50+ |
| Demon Hide Sack | 16 | Quest | Chain up to level 60 |
| Runecloth Bag | 14 | Tailoring | 260 skill |
◆How to collect four big bags
- From level 50, watch the auction house: Mooncloth Bags and Traveler's Backpacks appear regularly.
- Run Blackrock Depths and kill Ribbly — the Wayfarer's Knapsack has a good chance to drop.
- Finish the chain in the Blasted Lands for the Demon Hide Sack.
- Collect insignias and reputation with the Argent Dawn — at Friendly you can already pick the Supply Bag.
- In the Onyxia and Zul'Gurub raids, put the 18-slot bags on your wish list.

Best value: cost per slot tips
- The gap between 16 and 18 is small. Four 18-slot bags give only +8 slots over four 16-slot ones. The Bottomless Bag needs 12 Mooncloth and a rare pattern, so it costs many times more than a Mooncloth Bag.
- Unique bags do not stack. The Panther Hide Sack, Supply Bag, Wayfarer's Knapsack and Demon Hide Sack are Unique — you can carry only one of each.
- The budget choice is the 14-slot Runecloth Bag: tailors sell them in bulk while leveling the skill, so auction prices are usually low.
- Quest bags are free. The Demon Hide Sack and the Supply Bag cost time rather than gold — grab them before spending at the auction house.
- Do not forget the bank: old 14 to 16 slot bags are perfect for your bank slots.

FAQ
?What is the biggest bag in WoW Classic 1.12.1?
Regular bags top out at 18 slots: the Bottomless Bag, the Onyxia Hide Backpack, the Panther Hide Sack and the Supply Bag. Specialized bags can be larger, up to 28 slots on a soul bag, but they only hold items of their type.
?Can you buy an 18 slot bag at the auction house?
Only the Bottomless Bag, because it binds when equipped. The other three 18-slot bags bind when picked up.
?Which 16 slot bag is the easiest to get?
The Mooncloth Bag and the Traveler s Backpack. Neither binds at all, so both show up at the auction house regularly. The Mooncloth Bag is made by tailors with 300 skill.
?Is it worth paying extra for 18 slots instead of 16?
Four 18-slot bags give only 8 more slots than four 16-slot bags. It is usually smarter to fill every slot with 16-slot bags first and pick up 18-slot ones when they drop in raids or come along cheaply.
