Stormreaver Clan: the betrayal of Gul'dan
Vanilla WoW Classic 1.12 · x5 realm · wowx5.ruThe Stormreaver clan was Gul'dan's personal clan, forged from loyal warlocks and warriors. His greed for power cost the Old Horde victory in the Second War.
Gul'dan's clan
After Orgrim Doomhammer executed the previous chieftain, Gul'dan gathered his own clan — the Stormreavers. Its core was the warlocks of the Shadow Council and fighters loyal to Gul'dan personally, allied with the mad Twilight's Hammer clan led by the ogre-mage Cho'gall.
The Tomb of Sargeras
At the height of the siege of Lordaeron, Gul'dan abandoned the Horde: his hunger for the Eye of Sargeras led the Stormreavers out to sea, to the risen Tomb of Sargeras. This desertion crippled the Horde army at the decisive moment of the Second War and became a cause of its defeat.
The traitors' fall
The Tomb was a trap: demon guardians tore Gul'dan apart, and an enraged Orgrim Doomhammer sent the Blackrock clan to punish the deserters. The Stormreavers and Twilight's Hammer were all but wiped out — first by demons, then by their own kin.
Traces in WoW Classic
There are no direct Stormreaver bases in Vanilla, but the legacy lives on: the Twilight's Hammer reborn as a cult of the Old Gods, and the Tomb of Sargeras and the Eye are a running thread of Legion lore. Read the fall in the orc clans overview.
