Silithid are an ancient race of giant insects whose swarm crawls the sands of Silithus, the Un'Goro crater and the dunes of Tanaris. They are the most numerous and most feral part of the Ahn'Qiraj swarm: silithid are near-mindless and obey the minds of the qiraji and the call of the Old God C'Thun.
Silithid are never alone. Cutting into their burrow, be ready for the whole nearby swarm to converge on the noise — keep your escape routes open.
Castes of the swarm
Like an anthill, silithid are split into castes. Workers dig endless tunnels beneath the dunes, winged wasps guard the sky, and heavy reavers and colossi are the hive's strike force. Every creature is shaped for its role and lives only for the swarm.

Where the swarm came from
Silithid are spawn of C'Thun, an Old God sealed beneath the sands. For millennia they multiplied in the three hives of Silithus, until the Cenarion Circle raised Cenarion Hold against them. Holding back the endless swarm is nearly impossible.
