Silithid hives are three vast nests of the swarm dug into the sands of Silithus. Hive'Ashi, Hive'Zora and Hive'Regal are underground mazes from which silithid spread endlessly across the zone. They are the home of all insectoid races of Kalimdor and the front line of the war with the Ahn'Qiraj swarm.
The hives teem with silithid thicker than any open zone. Do not venture in alone — stay with a group and Cenarion Circle quests, or the swarm will crush you by sheer number.
Three nests of Silithus
Each hive is a separate maze with its own castes and masters. The hives surround the ancient ruins of Ahn'Qiraj, walled off from the world by the Scarab Wall. Behind it slumbers the sealed empire of the qiraji, and beneath the sands lies C'Thun himself.

Key to the Gates
The Gates of Ahn'Qiraj behind the Scarab Wall are opened only by the Scepter of the Shifting Sands — the reward of a long quest chain. With its toll the seal of the War of the Shifting Sands falls, and raids enter the Ruins and the Temple.

On the x5 server, Cenarion Brood reputation farming at the hives goes noticeably faster, and the road to the Ahn'Qiraj sets and the battle with the Twin Emperors grows shorter.

The hives host Cenarion Circle quests and Cenarion Brood reputation farming, along with swarm resource gathering. They are also a prologue to the Ahn'Qiraj raids: this is where the road to the seal and the Gates begins.
