Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj (AQ20): Complete Raid Guide
Vanilla WoW Classic 1.12 · x5 realm · wowx5.ruThe Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj (AQ20) is a 20-man raid in Silithus and a great bridge between dungeons and the big raids. It drops solid level 60 gear, Cenarion Circle reputation and crafting items. The entry barrier is lower than Molten Core, so AQ20 often becomes a young guild's first raid on x5.
Entry Requirements for AQ20
| Parameter | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Level | 60 | 60 |
| Gear | Dungeon BiS | Pre-raid BiS / T1 |
| Roster | 20 players | 2–3 tanks, 5–6 healers, ~12 DPS |
AQ20 is perfect for farming Cenarion Circle reputation and gearing before MC/BWL. On x5 the raid clears in a single evening even with an inexperienced group.
How to Enter AQ20
The Ruins entrance is in Silithus, near the Temple (AQ40) entrance, but it is a separate 20-man portal. Opening the Gates of Ahn'Qiraj is not required — the Ruins are available immediately.
Bosses of the Ruins
AQ20 has 6 bosses. Silithid patrols roam the zone between them.
1. Kurinnaxx
First boss. Mortal Wound — a stacking debuff on the tank (reduces healing). Rotate tanks by stacks. Sand Trap — avoid the sand vortices.
2. General Rajaxx
A wave fight: 8 waves of adds (Kaldorei captains) precede the boss. After the waves — Rajaxx himself with Thunderclap and a summon of Ossirian.

3. Moam
A mana boss. He drains raid mana and turns to stone, summoning Mana Fiends. Kill the fiends and restore mana.
4. Buru the Gorger
Chases a random player. While Buru pursues a target he is immune — you must detonate eggs around the arena, luring the boss into them. In phase 2 worm adds appear.
5. Ayamiss the Hunter
A flying boss in phase 1 (only ranged reach him), then he lands. Paralyze drags players to the altar — they must be rescued.
6. Ossirian the Unscarred — final
Uses Crystals of the Scarab: the tank lures the boss to an active crystal to apply a weakening debuff. Without the debuff his Supreme Mode wipes the raid. Requires good crystal coordination.
Loot and Reputation
AQ20 bosses drop level 60 items (rings, weapons, armor) plus silithid idols to raise Cenarion Circle reputation. That reputation unlocks enchant recipes and Nature Resistance items needed in AQ40.

FAQ
Do I need to open the Gates to enter AQ20?
No. Unlike AQ40, the Ruins are available immediately, without the server-wide event.
How many players does AQ20 need?
The raid is designed for 20 players. On x5 with good gear you can clear it with fewer, but 20 is the comfortable minimum for Ossirian.
Should I run AQ20 before MC?
Yes, it is a great warm-up: AQ20 gear is comparable to early MC, and the Cenarion Circle reputation is useful later.
