Useful raid macros for WoW Classic
Raid macros save seconds, and seconds add up to a boss kill. In WoW Classic 1.12 macros are simple: no complex conditionals and no mouseover, but /assist, /rw and target commands cover 90% of needs. Below is a ready set for DPS, healers and the raid leader.
Vanilla has no conditional mouseover macros ([target=mouseover]) — they came later. Simple /assist, /cast, /target Name work. For scripts over 255 characters install SuperMacro. The base is in the macros guide.

DPS macros
Focus fire on the main assist (see main assist):
/assist Tankname/startattack
Casters drop /startattack and use /assist Tankname plus their own rotation. This keeps all DPS on one target.
Healer macros
Quick target selection without clicking a frame:
/target Tankname/cast Greater Heal
For removing effects, chain target and dispel:
/target Targetname/cast Dispel Magic
Precise healing and mana economy are in healing assignments and mana management. Mass decursing is easier with Decursive.
Raid leader macros
/rw (raid warning) shows to everyone in large text — only the RL and assistants have it:

Cooldown and rez macros
Announce a personal cooldown so healers and the raid know (see raid cooldowns):
/s Popping Divine Shield, self-sustaining
Battle rez with a target call (see battle rez):
/target Targetname/cast Rebirth/rw Rezzing Targetname, do not run to corpses
Common mistakes
- Writing
[mod]/mouseover — it does not work in vanilla, the macro stays silent. /rwfor everyone — restrict raid warnings to the RL and assistants.- A hardcoded assist name — update the macro when the MA changes.
- A macro over 255 characters without SuperMacro — it gets cut off.
