Battle rez and self-rez in WoW Classic
Death in a WoW Classic raid is not always fatal: several classes can return a fighter to the fight mid-combat, and raise others afterward. Druid Rebirth, warlock Soulstone and shaman Reincarnation are three tools that save wipes. Here is who resurrects in vanilla and how to use it well.
In vanilla the druid's Rebirth has no cooldown — only a reagent and a 2-second combat cast. So several druids means several battle rezzes in a row. Keep 2–3 druids in the raid and assign the order in which they raise fallen tanks and healers.

◆Druid Rebirth (battle rez)
Rebirth is the only in-combat resurrection in vanilla:
- ~2-second cast, needs a reagent (seed/berries by rank), raises the target mid-fight;
- no cooldown in vanilla — limited only by reagents and cast time;
- several druids give several battle rezzes in a row.
Battle-rez priority: tank first, then healer, then a key DPS. Assign the order in advance — a raid leader's job.
◆Warlock Soulstone
The Soulstone is a self-rez prepared before the fight:
- the warlock creates a stone and applies it to a player (often self or a healer);
- on death the bearer clicks the stone and resurrects themselves, without pulling others away;
- ~30-minute cooldown, only one stone active per warlock at a time.
The classic play is to stone the main healer beforehand: if they fall, they get up without wasting time.
◆Shaman Reincarnation
Reincarnation is the shaman's passive self-rez:
- needs an Ankh reagent and raises the shaman themselves;
- long cooldown (about an hour), the Improved Reincarnation talent shortens it noticeably;
- handy on wipes: the shaman stands up alone and starts raising the rest.
◆Normal out-of-combat rez
After the fight the fallen are raised with a normal rez (10-second cast, out of combat only):

After a wipe a rez chain speeds things up: other rezzers are raised first, then they raise the raid (see wipe recovery).
How to use rezzes in a raid
Resurrection is part of the raid roles: the raid leader hands out battle-rez priority in advance and assigns soulstones. Healers meanwhile watch their mana.
