Bloodlord Mandokir is the arena champion of Zul'Gurub, mounted on his powerful raptor Ohgan. The fight is defined by two mechanics: built-in self-healing via kills (Mandokir recovers HP when he kills a player) and the Threatening Gaze mechanic — any movement by the marked player causes Mandokir to instantly attack them.

Threatening Gaze — the key mechanic
Every ~10–15 seconds Mandokir gazes at a random player. While the mark is active (visually obvious) — that player must NOT:
- Move
- Attack
- Cast any spell
Any action and Mandokir charges them and almost certainly kills them with one hit. The mark falls off after a few seconds.
Explain to every raid member: if Threatening Gaze is on you — drop everything and stand like a statue. New players instinctively run or keep casting — instant death and a free level for Mandokir.
Ohgan and leveling
Mandokir recovers HP and gains a level when he kills a player: his damage and HP grow with each kill. So the main goals are: 1. Kill Ohgan quickly (he is weaker than Mandokir and removing him strips the boss's defense). 2. Nobody dies to Threatening Gaze — otherwise Mandokir grows stronger.
Step-by-Step Tactics
1. DPS priority — Ohgan (the raptor). When Ohgan dies Mandokir dismounts. 2. Raid swaps to Mandokir. All DPS damage him. 3. On Threatening Gaze — STOP. Full stop for the marked player. 4. Mark drops — resume the fight. 5. Keep deaths at zero.

Bloodlord's Defender remains the best warrior-tank shield for a long time. Ohgan's Chain is BiS neck for most physical DPS. Both are high-priority drops.
Tips for WoW x5
On x5 Mandokir dies fast with zero raid deaths. Give a short briefing before the pull: "on the mark — stop, do not move." It is simpler than it sounds when the raid is warned.
On x5 Ohgan can be killed in 5–7 seconds — switch to him from the very first swings.

What is Mandokir's Threatening Gaze?
Threatening Gaze marks a random player. If that player moves, Mandokir instantly attacks them and almost certainly one-shots them. Rule: on Threatening Gaze — do not move, do not attack, do not cast. Just stand still.
Why kill raptor Ohgan?
Mandokir rides the raptor Ohgan. When Ohgan is killed, Mandokir dismounts and loses part of his defense — damage dealt to him increases. So the raid usually kills Ohgan first and then focuses on Mandokir himself.
What loot drops from Mandokir?
Mandokir drops the BiS shield Bloodlord's Defender, the BiS melee neck Ohgan's Chain, Primal Hakkari Idol and sometimes a unique item for Zandalar sets. One of the richest ZG bosses for melee gear.
