Hakkar the Soulflayer: Tactics, Loot and Tips for WoW x5
Vanilla WoW Classic 1.12 · x5 realm · wowx5.ruWho is Hakkar
Hakkar the Soulflayer is the blood god of the Zandalari trolls and the final boss of Zul'Gurub (20-player raid). To reach Hakkar, the raid must kill at least 5 of 7 priests (Arlokk, Venoxis, Jeklik, Mar'li, Thekal, Mandokir, or Gahz'ranka). Each surviving priest empowers Hakkar during the fight — ideally kill all 5–7 before engaging him.

Fight Mechanics
Core Abilities
| Ability | Effect | Raid Response |
|---|---|---|
| Corrupted Blood | Disease debuff that spreads to nearby players | Infected player immediately leaves the group |
| Enervate | Reduces player damage and healing | Healers watch and dispel |
| Blood Siphon | Drains raid HP to heal Hakkar | Kill Bloodkeeper adds immediately |
| Aspect of Hakkar | Empowerment from surviving priests | Kill all priests before the fight |
Phase 1: Active
The raid stands in a semicircle. Hakkar attacks the main tank and periodically throws Corrupted Blood on a random player.
Corrupted Blood is the primary wipe mechanic. The moment you get the debuff — immediately run at least 10 yards away from the raid. The disease spreads on contact and kills the whole group within seconds if the carrier is not isolated.
Blood Siphon — Critical Phase
Every ~60 seconds Hakkar applies Blood Siphon: he drains HP from the entire raid to heal himself. At this moment Hakkari Bloodkeeper adds spawn — kill them immediately. While they live, Hakkar heals.
Pre-assign 3–4 DPS to instantly switch to Bloodkeeper when they appear. If they survive longer than 5–6 seconds, Hakkar will recover a significant chunk of his HP.
Priests and Aspect of Hakkar
Each surviving ZG priest empowers Hakkar (+15% damage per priest). Fighting with 3+ priests alive is nearly impossible. The optimal strategy is to kill all 5 priests before engaging Hakkar.
Loot Table
| Item | Type | For |
|---|---|---|
| Quest Item | All (ZG rewards) | |
| One-hand Sword | Warrior, Rogue | |
| Hakkari Sash | Belt | Casters (BiS) |
| Leather Pants | Hunter, Rogue | |
| Zulian Stone Axe | Axe | Warrior (BiS 2H) |
| High Priest's Circlet | Head | Mage (BiS) |
Heart of Hakkar is a quest item turned in to Zanza the Restless inside ZG for unique rewards. Make sure the quest is active before the fight — otherwise you cannot loot the heart.
Tips for WoW x5
On x5, Hakkar dies in 2–3 minutes at good DPS. Blood Siphon triggers only twice. The key is discipline on Corrupted Blood and fast focus on Bloodkeeper. Prepare a macro to run away when you get the debuff.
ZG resets every 3 days (not weekly like MC/BWL). On x5 this means you can farm Hakkar twice per week. An excellent source of BiS items parallel to MC progression.
