Who are the satyrs
Satyrs are tall goat-legged beings with horns, hooves, clawed hands and a spiteful, haughty glare. Their features still hint at the night elves they once were.
Satyrs wield dark magic — curses, fel and shadow. They are immortal, cunning and contemptuous of life, serving the Legion and their own hunger for destruction. Their lairs are tainted groves where they conduct demonic rituals.
The fall: from elves to demons
In ancient times, during the War of the Ancients, a portion of the Highborne led by Queen Azshara's advisor — Xavius — went over to the Burning Legion. As a reward Sargeras turned Xavius into the first satyr, and his followers into a cursed people.
Since then the satyrs have multiplied, converting new victims and spreading corruption. They are the eternal enemies of the night elves and the druids of the Cenarion Circle, who fight to cleanse the tainted lands.
