Night Elf in WoW Classic
Night Elf is a stealthy and agile Alliance race. On the WoW Classic X5 realm (1.12.1, x5 rates) it is the only way for the Alliance to take the Druid class, and its racials help both while leveling and in PvP.
Racial abilities
- Shadowmeld — invisibility while standing still out of combat; helps you hide and avoid enemies.
- Quickness — +1% chance to dodge.
- Wisp Spirit — faster movement as a ghost after death.
- Nature Resistance — +10 nature resistance.
Available classes
Warrior, Hunter, Rogue, Priest, Druid. Night Elves cannot play Paladin, Mage, Warlock or Shaman.
Starting zone
You begin on the world-tree island of Teldrassil; the capital is Darnassus. A boat runs to Auberdine and onward to the mainland.
What matters on x5
Shadowmeld and the dodge bonus make Night Elf comfortable for a Rogue and a feral Druid. On fast x5 rates the path to 60 is short, so a Night Elf Druid is a popular pick for a flexible group role. See the 1–60 leveling guide and the all classes page.

Are only Night Elves Druids in the Alliance?
Yes, in Vanilla only the Night Elf can play Druid on the Alliance side. On the Horde, Druid is available to Tauren.
How does Shadowmeld work?
Shadowmeld makes your character invisible while standing still and out of combat. It is useful for slipping past patrols, hiding in PvP, or waiting out danger.
