Marksmanship Hunter — Build, Talents & Rotation
Marksmanship Hunter is the hunter raid spec in WoW Classic. The Marksmanship tree gives the highest sustained ranged damage and the unique Trueshot Aura (+attack power to the whole group), which is why Marksmanship is the raid standard, unlike the solo-oriented Beast Mastery.
Don't clip your Auto Shot! Weave Multi-Shot and Aimed Shot between auto-attack ticks without resetting its timer. Correct shot weaving is the Marksman's main damage source.

Marksmanship is about raid damage and buffs:
- Raid DPS — the highest sustained ranged damage in vanilla.
- Trueshot Aura — +attack power to the whole group (a physical-DPS buff).
- Utility — Viper Sting, Rapid Fire, Distracting Shot, misdirects through the pet.

Trueshot Aura is the capstone, Mortal Shots raises crit damage, Lightning Reflexes gives agility.
Rotation and play
The core is Auto Shot woven with Multi-Shot and Aimed Shot. For burst use Rapid Fire. Keep Aspect of the Hawk up and mind the melee dead zone. Track the auto interval and don't clip it: details in hunter rotation and hunter macros.
Stats and gear
Priority: attack power → ranged hit cap → crit → agility → intellect (mana). Ranged hit is critical — otherwise shots miss. Gear in pre-raid BiS hunter, damage/crit formulas in character stats.
