Build #1: Marksmanship Raid (0/31/20)
The raid standard for MC, BWL, ZG, AQ and Naxxramas.
Key Marksmanship talents: Efficiency 5/5, Improved Hunter's Mark 5/5, Lethal Shots 5/5, Aimed Shot 1/1, Mortal Shots 5/5, Scatter Shot 1/1, Barrage 5/5, Trueshot Aura 1/1, Ranged Weapon Specialization 5/5.
Survival (20 points): Humanoid Slaying 3/3, Deflection, Savage Strikes, Surefooted 3/3 (hit rating!), Trap Mastery, Killer Instinct 5/5.
Trueshot Aura buffs attack power for the whole raid group. If your raid brings two Hunters, only one needs to spend the point — coordinate it in advance.
Raid rotation
1. Apply Hunter's Mark before the pull. 2. Open with Aimed Shot, then Multi-Shot on cooldown. 3. Fill with Auto Shot and keep a Serpent Sting rolling if mana allows. 4. Watch your ammo, quiver speed and pet positioning — a pet in a cleave dies fast.
Build #2: Beast Mastery Leveling (41/10/0)
The fastest way to level a Hunter.
Beast Mastery (41 points): Improved Aspect of the Hawk 5/5, Endurance Training 5/5, Thick Hide 3/3, Improved Revive Pet, Unleashed Fury 5/5, Ferocity 5/5, Frenzy 5/5, Bestial Wrath 1/1, Spirit Bond.
Leveling tactics
- Send the pet in, let it hold aggro, then open with Aimed Shot.
- Keep the pet fed and its Growl on — the pet is your tank.
- Use Feign Death to reset dangerous pulls instead of running.
- On x5 you rarely need to stop for downtime: pull the next target while the pet
is still finishing the last one.
Build #3: Survival PvP (0/21/30)
Survival brings Deterrence, improved traps, Wyvern Sting and Counterattack — the tools that win duels and battleground skirmishes. Marksmanship is taken to 21 for Aimed Shot and Scatter Shot as the opener.
The classic PvP opener is Scatter Shot → Freezing Trap → distance → Aimed Shot. Practise it; against melee classes it decides the fight in the first five seconds.

WoW Classic X5 tips
1. On x5 you outlevel your bow quickly — check the auction house for a ranged weapon upgrade every few levels. 2. Hit rating first, then Agility. Surefooted 3/3 is not optional in raids. 3. Keep two pets: a Cat for damage and a Bear or Boar for tanking. 4. Ammo matters more than players expect — always carry the highest ammo you can buy.
