Profession bags in WoW Classic 1.12.1 are specialty bags that only accept one type of item but hold noticeably more than regular bags. On the WoW x5 server herbalists and enchanters pile up hundreds of reagents fast, and a 20 to 24 slot bag frees the main inventory for loot. In Vanilla such bags exist only for herbs and enchanting materials (plus separate bags for soul shards and ammunition).

What profession bags are and why you need them

A herb bag only accepts herbs, an enchanting bag only accepts enchanting materials: dusts, essences and shards. Nothing else fits, so they do not replace regular bags but complement them. For an herbalist farming Black Lotus and Purple Lotus along the routes from the herb farming guide, a 24-slot bag means far fewer trips to the mailbox.

How to get a herb or enchanting bag

Herb Pouch (12 slots). Bought from herbalism supply vendors for 10 silver, no profession required.
Enchanted Mageweave Pouch (16 slots). A tailor with skill 225 buys the pattern from enchanting supply vendors in the capitals for 60 silver.
Cenarion Herb Bag (20 slots). Mishta in Cenarion Hold (Silithus) sells the pattern for 2 gold at Friendly with the Cenarion Circle, tailoring skill 275.
Enchanted Runecloth Bag (20 slots). Kania in Cenarion Hold sells the pattern for 2 gold with no reputation requirement, skill 275.
Satchel of Cenarius (24 slots). Pattern from Mishta for 5 gold at Revered, skill 300.
Big Bag of Enchantment (24 slots). The pattern drops from Magister Kalendris in Dire Maul, skill 300.

Cenarion Circle reputation and patterns

Two of the three herb bags are tied to reputation. Friendly with the Cenarion Circle comes from quests in Silithus, while Revered takes a long grind, the route is described in the Cenarion Circle reputation guide. The patterns bind when picked up, so the tailor has to buy them personally.

Tips: auction house, faction, savings

Start with a Herb Pouch. For 10 silver an herbalist gets 12 slots right away, more about the profession in the herbalism guide.
16 slots are enough while leveling enchanting. The Enchanted Mageweave Pouch is cheap and its pattern is sold to both factions; the leveling route is in the enchanting guide.
Cenarion Hold is neutral. Mishta and Kania trade with both factions if your reputation allows.
Buy from tailors. The bags only bind when equipped, so you can order one from a tailor or find it on the auction house.
Black Lotus is the main cost. The Satchel of Cenarius needs a Black Lotus, which is cheaper to gather yourself.
