Grommash Hellscream: the last to be free

He was the first to drink the demon's blood and the last to be freed from it, redeeming an ancient curse at the cost of his own life. His name still echoes among the orcs as a byword for both guilt and redemption.
Chieftain of the Warsong
Grommash led the Warsong clan — the fastest and most aggressive of the orc clans. His warriors were first into battle and last to leave the field, and Grom himself was the living embodiment of the orcs' fury.
The blood curse
It was Grommash who first drank the blood of Mannoroth offered by Gul'dan, binding the Horde to the corruption of the Burning Legion. This bloodlust made the orcs slaves of demons for two wars.
Freeing the Horde
When Thrall led the Horde to Kalimdor, Grommash succumbed to the curse again, slaying the demigod Cenarius. Realizing his guilt, he set out with Thrall to hunt Mannoroth.
The demon's death
In the decisive clash Grommash struck Mannoroth a mortal blow, destroying the source of the curse. The demon fell, but the chieftain died too — his sacrifice freed the Horde from the corruption forever.
A mark on Vanilla
Though Grom fell before the events of WoW Classic, his clan lives on. The warriors of the Warsong log the ancient forest of Ashenvale and hold the line against the night elves, and his name marks one of the hottest battlegrounds — Warsong Gulch.
