The green dragonflight are the guardians of Azeroth's wild nature and keepers of the Emerald Dream. They are led by Ysera the Dreamer, the Aspect of Nature, whom the titan Eonar entrusted with watching over the life of the forests and the gateways to the ghostly realm of dreams.
Green dragons are met sleeping more often than awake: their bodies slumber in Azeroth while their minds wander the Emerald Dream.
The Aspect of Nature and the Emerald Dream
Of all the Dragon Aspects, Ysera is bound most closely to the essence of life and growth. The Emerald Dream is an ever-green reflection of Azeroth as it would be without cities, roads or wars. Green dragons spend nearly all their existence there, guarding nature not with the sword but with the dream.
Through the Dream the flight is linked to the druids: it is where a druid's mind goes when sinking into a deep trance. Gateways to the Emerald Dream are scattered across the world and carefully guarded.
The Dragons of Nightmare
A dark shadow fell over the green flight when the Emerald Dream was struck by corruption — the Emerald Nightmare. Four of Ysera's mighty dragons went mad and burst into the world, sowing terror: Ysondre, Lethon, Emeriss and Taerar.
In Vanilla these four roam Azeroth as the Dragons of Nightmare — world bosses that appear at the gateways to the Emerald Dream and hurl corruption and madness at mortals.

The green flight is a loyal ally of the red and bronze in defence of life and order. Its opposite is destruction and corruption, whether the treason of the black flight or the taint that crept into the Emerald Dream itself.
