Giants are ancient colossi of Azeroth, older than almost every mortal race. Legend says the titans forged them from the elements of the world itself — stone, water and storm — so that giants could help shape the mountains, coasts and deep places. They are not the ogres who came from Draenor, but native children of Azeroth, kin to its elemental essence.
Giants rarely seek a fight. Most wander the wild fringes in peace — but a roused colossus strikes with force enough to break a party.
The four kinds of giant
In Vanilla a player meets several kinds of colossus, each bearing the mark of its element:
- Mountain giants — stone-skinned wardens of Feralas and the foothills.
- Sea giants — colossi of the coasts of Kalimdor.
- Stone giants — the first work of the titans, keepers of the deep.
- Storm giants — the rarest children of air and lightning.
