Felcloth: Which Demons Drop It and What Tailors Make
Felcloth is the only cloth in WoW Classic 1.12.1 that drops from demons rather than humanoids. It is the raw material for Mooncloth and for a whole line of tailoring gear at skill 275 to 300. On the WoW x5 server you reach level 60 quickly, so tailors start needing Felcloth early. Below are drop rates from our game server database and the recipes that consume it.

◆What Felcloth is
Felcloth is a plain white reagent with item level 50: it does not bind, stacks to 20 and sells to a vendor for 20 silver. No vendor sells it, so you get it only from monsters or the Auction House. Its main value is purification into Mooncloth at a moonwell: two Felcloth become one Mooncloth once every four days. That process is covered in detail on the Mooncloth page.
What drops Felcloth
According to our server loot tables, 43 creature types carry Felcloth, and almost all of them are demons of level 50 to 62. The chance is small, so mob density and kill speed matter most. Here are the main farming spots with rates from the database.
| Zone | Mobs | Level | Chance |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dire Maul East | Wildspawn Satyrs, Tricksters, Shadowstalkers | 55-57 | 5.6-7.1% |
| Winterspring, Darkwhisper Gorge | Hederine Slayer, Hederine Initiate | 59-60 | 4.9-5.1% |
| Blasted Lands, near the Dark Portal | Felguard Elite, Doomguard Commander | 61 | 4.4-8.6% |
| Azshara, Legash Encampment | Legashi Rogue, Satyr, Hellcaller | 51-53 | 3.8-5% |
| Felwood, Jaedenar | Jaedenar Legionnaire | 55 | 4.2% |
| Felwood | Jadefire satyrs | 50-54 | 3.4-3.9% |
Named demons are a separate case. Lord Banehollow in Jaedenar has about a 9.9 percent chance, but there is only one of him. The Xorothian Dreadsteed, which a warlock summons in Dire Maul during the warlock epic mount chain, drops Felcloth 35 percent of the time. That is a nice bonus, not a farming method.

◆Best farming spots
- Felwood: the best solo option at 55 to 60, with plenty of non-elite Jadefire satyrs and the Jaedenar legionnaires, and Runecloth drops on the side. The zone map and approaches are in the Felwood article.
- Azshara: the Legash Encampment, with level 51 to 53 satyrs. Good for fresh level 60 characters.
- Darkwhisper Gorge in southern Winterspring: Hederine demons of level 59 to 60 with about a 5 percent chance. The mobs are packed tight and hit hard, so it is better as a duo.
- Blasted Lands: the felguards at the Dark Portal are elite, so this spot is for a group.
- Dire Maul East: the best chance in the table. It is easy to farm in a group while clearing the wing, and the way in is on the Dire Maul page.

General cloth routes for every level are collected in the cloth farming guide. There, Felcloth comes as a welcome bonus to the main Runecloth farm.
◆What tailors make from Felcloth
Besides Mooncloth, Felcloth is used directly in tailoring recipes at skill 275 to 300. Almost all of them also need Bolts of Runecloth and Rune Thread. The data below comes from our server spell table.
- Felcloth Pants: 4 Felcloth, skill 275. Lorelae Wintersong sells the pattern in Nighthaven (Moonglade) for 1 gold 60 silver.
- Felcloth Boots: 4 Felcloth (285), Hood: 4 (290), Shoulders: 6 (300), Robe: 8 (300), Gloves: 20 (300). These patterns drop from high-level monsters.
- Robe of Winter Night: 12 Felcloth. The pattern drops from the Cobalt Mageweaver.
- Robe of the Void: the record holder, with 40 Felcloth and 20 Demonic Runes. The pattern drops from Darkmaster Gandling in Scholomance.
- Runed Stygian Belt, Boots and Leggings: 2, 4 and 6 Felcloth.
- Wicked Leather Armor: a leatherworking recipe, 6 Felcloth.
◆Soul bags for warlocks
Soul shard bags are a separate source of demand. The 24-slot Felcloth Bag needs 12 Felcloth, and the 28-slot Core Felcloth Bag needs 20 Felcloth plus 16 Core Leather. The second pattern drops from Molten Core bosses. All soul bags are compared in soul shard bags.

FAQ
?What drops Felcloth?
Only demons of level 50 to 62: Jadefire and Jaedenar satyrs in Felwood, Legashi satyrs in Azshara, the Hederine demons in Darkwhisper Gorge, the felguards at the Dark Portal and the Wildspawn satyrs in Dire Maul. Humanoids almost never drop it.
?Where is the best place to farm Felcloth?
The Wildspawn satyrs in the east wing of Dire Maul have a 5.6 to 7.1 percent chance, and the Hederine demons in Winterspring about 5 percent. For solo play at level 60, Felwood and Azshara are convenient: the chance is lower, about 3.5 to 5 percent, but the mobs are not elite.
?Can I buy Felcloth from a vendor?
No, vendors do not sell it. Felcloth does not bind, so you can buy it on the Auction House or from other players. A vendor pays 20 silver for it.
?How much Felcloth does a soul bag need?
The 24-slot Felcloth Bag needs 12 Felcloth, and the 28-slot Core Felcloth Bag needs 20. Both are soul bags that only warlocks can use.
